Anyone watching the new season? I've been catching up with it on my dvr, and I have to say I like it much better then season 1.

Anyone have any opinions?

Seen 2 eps so far, the one where rush is stuck in a chair and is dreaming the access code to destiny , and the epic episode where there are MUTHAFLIPPIN ALIENS MUTHAFLIPPA! and we kick their arses

I like this season, but I have to say I miss Rush being a sniveling weasel in the last few episodes. He's been more of a straight shooter, but I'm sure that will change in the future at some point.

last time i saw it the whole earth connection with the stones went a bit wrong, massive mess up we werent expecting, and things kicked off. awesome.

I've liked most of the recent episodes, except the one that was more blatant of a BSG ripoff than normal (the "oh noes, mutiny!" episode).

I do like Season 1.5 (that is what they are calling it I swear) more than the first half. I kept waiting for them to rescue Matt, Eli, and Chloe but TWICE they cliffhangered it! They almost convinced me that they were gonna be left behind at one point, which SG* has never been able to do before.

Cliffhanger on last week's episode was good too.

After this week's episode, there's an episode leading up to the two part finale. :D Should be good.

I like it, although sometimes it feels like they're stretching to fill out the hour. What I want to know is if Destiny always needs to eat people for major chair work , I hope they go into that more.

And the galaxy-hopping adds something to the trip, too. Wonder how often that happens.

No, but the whole time I was watching that episode, all I could think was "Young = Adama, Wray = Roslin, Rush = Baltar". The characters are all fairly similar in a lot of ways, the whole atmosphere of the shows are similar, and then the fact that SGU also decided to do a "military leadership vs. civilian governmnet" plotline just made me feel like that episode was way more "influenced" by BSG than usual.

last week was the first time ive ever been confused watching a television program.. all this random stuff kept happening that seemed to have no actual logic or reasoning behind it other than to keep the plot moving forward. Seriously, what...

So, I guess the only reason why chloe, eli, and Scott were able to dial in and get back on the ship was because Destiny wasn't in FTL? I didn't really understand that.

That seemed stupid because it looked like Destiny was already pretty far from the entire Galaxy, let alone the local gate where those 3 were on.

Yeah they had established that the range of the prototype gates was more limited than the Milky Way ones... that seemed too far out of range to me (you could see the entire galaxy easily in the space shots).

BTW this isn't the end of the aliens storyline... they will feature in the finale or the next episode at some point... the teaser for Season 1.5 shows them invading Destiny through the Stargate at some poin, which hasn't happened yet. :awesome:

Or even better, how about that the Season 1.5 teaser's shot of the aliens invading Destiny via the Stargate was a hallucination? I mean it cleared up the inconsistency (there was no way the aliens could reach Destiny anymore and yet we hadn't yet seen that scene) but I feel they were toying with us having that scene in the trailer to begin with...

The Galactica webisodes were nice, they weren't really integral to the plot yet gave you something nice to watch.
