Fantastic Contraption

Fantastic Contraption. I'm sure several of you have played it before. I first played this about a year or so ago. Recently I was reminded of it so I searched the name to get different sites and I noticed the videos that turned up as well. Search youtube for Fantastic Contraption if you're interested although I would suggest playing it a bit first before seeing some of the wonderful, or should I say fantastic, contraptions people have built.

I love that game. I don't have the patience to go through it again, but I spent hours and hours coming up with cool machines. We had a really long thread about it a year ago or something.

Yeah, I was going to search for it because I thought there might have been. Not sure if I saw it or nor but it seems like the kind of thing that would already have come up here. I decided it didn't matter whether or not this was old news because even if only one person here is unaware of the game it was worth mentioning again!

I remember having a challenge to have the pink block stay inside the goal area rather than just pass through it. I got a bunch of them done that way, but stopped playing for some reason. I won't play it now though, got topo much stuff to get done today. :(

We can't say "Free'ѕ mom?"

That one is accredited to MY Legacy.

It's attributed to Massassi in general actually, since a lot of people were involved.

haha, I remember spending a good bunch of my hours at summer school in fermilab playing this damn game...(think when I posted the original thread)

I wasn't the first but a couple of us spotted someone else playing it....and in a room full of physicists....this game spread like wildfire.

At the summary at the end of the week there was a photo put up on screen that was taken at the back of the lecture room....the game was up on about 15 different laptop's during a lecture :D

Proud of my solution to unpossible. Site now has a link to Fantastic Contraption 2 as well.

Sweet, it has tools for making chains! Saves a lot of time compared to having to make them one link at a time.

Wow, fantastic contraption 2 actually has all the challenges created by the community, like clean, green, etc.

They actually included those in the iPhone version of Fantastic Contraption 1 as well.

They don't have the challenge I created, though, which actually became a fairly standard one accepted on the forums, with its own icons and everything. :P

(Pilot, where you don't allow the goal piece to touch any static or dynamic surfaces.)

You know, I love the first game but this second pales in comparison. I'm sure some of the challenges will get stupid hard eventually but so far I have gotten through the Pyramid and there has been no challenge and they all have lacked the simplistic originality of the first. It's still fun but nothing like the first.

Okay, Marble was pretty fun. Easy though. And for some reason the link isn't working now. Maybe later.
