...unless we play in-car view only with all assists off. Then I dominate.

WTF.

Are you implying that Forza 3 has unrealistic driving physics?

Note to everyone: Don't get into an argument with z@nardi about car games, it's just not worth it.

Brian, are you implying that someone should not get into an argument with me?

No but I was asking CM because I wasn't sure if that is what he is saying, or is he saying that in order beat his roommate in Forza he should brush his skills up in Mario Kart cause that would make sense.

When the assists are on, yes?

Oh right, I just thought you were comparing the games. Well the assists (besides auto-brake) do exist in real life, doesn't effect the handling or acceleration.

ABS is the only assist I use. It makes no sense to me to turn it off, when 90% of the cars in the game have ABS.

I do too, actually I think Turn 10 got the non-ABS wrong. It just feels like if your going 100+mph and slam the brakes, the wheels instantly lock up. In reality there is too much momentum and the wheels wont lock up until your at a slower pace, or you got the front wheels turned in too early or something. If your really into racing sims I highly recommend Race Pro (Lizard, race series engine) or any of the Race games on PC.. and of course rFactor.

I agree, zanardi. There's no brake bias in the world that will keep the wheels from locking up. It's really annoying, because I'd like that extra 5% on my score... but oh well... Forza is about as close as you can get to driving a real car, for me... while using a controller anyway... I have yet to find a wheel that was worth buying... I need something with a 270 degree angle, but I don't want to spend 600 dollars on it, you know?

And is it just me, or do the brakes never seem to fade on Forza? I've done 20 laps at NRing and they never fade. I've done 115 laps at Laguna Seca and they don't fade. It kind of annoys me.

Most modified/pro cars don't have this if I'm not mistaken.

I drive with everything off, typically because I like to use old muscle cars. The only thing I use (until I get used to the track) is the drive guide line.

I have GTR2, Race, and Race 07. I haven't found a convenient way to get my wheel set up, though.

Logitech G37. Unfortunately it's PC/Playstation only. .(

True, but a lot of older cars don't have stability control and traction control, and none have the 3rd person "20ft-above-the-car" view. :P

Yeah it's pretty amazing isn't it, carbon-carbon-carbon brakes. Hey let me ask you something. Have you noticed that like the first lap while your slidding around trying to get temperature into the tires, the AI drives around you like they have some sort of tire treatment on, like their tires are already warmed up?

Yeah, that drives me nuts. I intentionally slide around like a madman on the turns of the first lap.
