is over. On TV at least, for now.

They did a good job of bringing emotion to the end despite, obviously, not killing the possibility of a future for the franchise. The character of the current president was resolved with some redemption which was called for although I thought she too easily succumbed to the temptations of politics this season. Spoilers be damned, discuss freely your thoughts. Anyone not wanting spoilers for 24 shouldn't be here anyway! ;)

Pretty perfect ending, I thought. I've always been a fan of Chloe, so I was happy to see her play such a major role in the finale.

It ended the way every 24 season ends generally speaking: The plot is foiled, but Jack is still a fugitive and is alone and undercover so to speak, something bad happens at the end (the president will be impeached/possibly imprisoned, possibly future war/political implications, and Jack is still a fugitive), and there is room for a sequel.

I've only watched up through season five, though, so I won't give any more spoilers.

[ Also, so far, I hate Chloe and wish she would get the Hell off of the show. Her techno-gibberish makes my head hurt and she's a royal *****. ]

Like Jack said in the finale, who would have guessed that it would have been her that had his back for all these years?

The primary responsibility of every CTU analyst for eight seasons has been to recite technobabble. We love Chloe because she does it with character. Awkward, socially inept character.

Pretty much this. Not the best season, but a pretty damn good season.
