I have a USB port in my car to charge stuff and play music from. :colbert:

(3GS battery is apparently 1219 mAh it seems.)

C. Task killers are neither required nor recommended for good battery life and performance. People who use them don't understand Android. Ironically, this is pretty much the same situation the iPhone OS 4 will be in; only difference being that Android has more actual services.

This is what it always said in this circumstance but the fact is, when I kill all running apps, my screens transition smoothly, my inbox doesn't lag when opening, and my menus scroll smoothly. With applications open this does not happen. Even overclocked to 1ghz.

I don't understand why they would want to cap bandwidth with a new network, DESIGNED for higher bandwidth. People already milk 3G for gigs and gigs of data, and it's barely a 1-2mbit connection at best.

I don't think Sprint will follow with the restrictions, no word of it yet. Besides, Sprint's 4G is supposed to be entirely third party, via ClearWire I think.

Just to add a bit to this, my iPhone has everything turned on, and I went all weekend without charging it. Of course I don't use the iPhone as a phone that much just email an web.

I know I wont have any issues with battery life on the EVO because I don't live on my mobile device 24/7.

Then you need to find out what app is ruining your phone's performance. I have no such issues.

Matty: in my 18 months of iPhone ownership I've never once needed to take a screenshot :p

But the link is funny ;)

blargh. Matt or other android users:

do any of you run third party SMS apps? i've been having trouble with the default app since the 2.1 update on my Eris (yeah, yeah, blah, incredible, blah. at the time i needed a phone right away, and we didnt like the moto. everything was great before the update.) and was wondering if ChompSMS or Handcent were good apps or not. people on androidforums love both apps, but i trust you guys' opinion here a little bit more than random people i dont have an established rapport with.
My girlfriend paid a lot of money for that tv; I want to watch ALL OF IT. - JM

Handcent I can't judge since it's not working for the EVO yet, but ChompSMS has that stupid, stupid bubble chat that I can't stand. It looks bad enough on the iPhone, I wish people would stop trying to emulate it. After all the effects you get like 4 messages on the screen!

I have absolutely no issues with the default sms client on my EVO though. I'm not sure if it's stock Android or an HTC app however.

Man, I just put Mighty ROM on my TP2, its 500% better. Makes the original sprint rom look like dry poo.

What this thread taught me:

The iphone can take screenshots

What this thread hasn't taught me:

Why you would want to
You can't judge a book by it's file size
