Awesome. I used to play LOTRO a year or so back and it was pretty cool. It will be nice to get back into it.. especially if its free

How is it that they've made so much more money by turning their other mmo free to play?

Because there's only so much that's free. You have to pay something at somepoint through microtransactions to get further.

So far, I'm hearing that free accounts in LOTRO will cap at level 20 and be limited to starter areas (that is enough areas to get to level 20, not just the opening area itself)
