Skee-ball. Best arcade game, or best arcade game?

Although true, my area is devoid of Skee-ball, I would say air hockey or foozeball beats it... and more than marginally.

It's like the cheapest arcade game ever. Even at Dave and Busters, the world's most expensive goddamn arcade (and bar/restaurant), it's only like a quarter to play!

When I take my nephews to Chucky Cheese I am all about playing a round or two of skee ball! Love that game!

There was a pinball machine in one of the student bars I frequented.

The highscore tables were a constant battleground between me and two friends, each vying to outdo each other.

My best was second.

Also, yeah. I know only what it is from things like Futurama.

Note that Deadman has had plenty of opportunities to play it, but chose not to as he thought it was simple and boring (not that simple is always a bad thing, but boring is).
I'll take a good pinball machine over skee-ball any day.

I'm not a big Skee-ball fan, but my wife loves it. I'd probably always choose pinball over skee-ball.

But then again, I don't really care for pinball either. I'm more likely to play ANY video game than pinball or skee-ball.

Well if it's Skee ball vs. pinball I gotta go with pinball.. Skee ball just pisses me off sometimes, damn ball wont go in the hole.

I am awful at Skee-ball.

I like Pinball because it is loud, fun, and I feel the ultimate power of being able to press buttons to fling a ball into stuff and for the gratification of getting the ball in hard to reach spots.

But everyone knows the best machine in the whole arcade is the change machine.

Seriously, though, while I don't hate on skeeball, it's only so good too.

Funny thing is a couple weeks ago I was showing my boy how to play, he wasn't paying attention. He was just grabbing the balls and running up the ramp and throwing them. Anyway, I was looking at him, trying to show him how to roll the ball up the ramp, barely paying attention to the aim and I put the ball straight in one of the pair of highest score holes that are offset from the middle. Never did that before. Unfortunately, his game was somehow over, even though there was a line of balls left to play so I got no points and, therefore, no tickets.

In general, when I play, I roll the ball so it bounces off the rail on the side of the ramp and back towards the field of holes at an angle. Just seems easier to me that way. That's not what happened above though. Damn thing went straight into the hole. It's a version slightly different than the one in the wiki picture. The top hole is replaced with two, offset to each side.

Pinball slightly better.

I've played this at amusement parks...it's not bad.

At my local arcade, you used to be able to steal the tickets from the skee ball the easiest.

never played it though.

I played the zombie shooter games in between stealing the tickets from the skee ball machine and buying candy with them.
