Obama drops the A bomb
2010-06-09, 9:40 AM #1
Anyone catch Obama on NBC? Partway through the interview he drops this gem:

Quote:
"I don't sit around just talking to experts because this is a college seminar.*We talk to these folks because they, potentially, have the best answers so I know whose ass to kick,"

I had three initial reactions. I thought it was a little funny, a little scripted and a little offputting.
For a guy who I will admit, can be a really good speaker, Obama really does not do tough very well.

Anyone have any thoughts on presidents swearing on air. Or have a good example of a president really taking someone to task?

Well, I mean, the Vice Presidents in recent years have been pretty foul mouthed... with Cheney's "Go **** yourself!" and Biden's "This is a big ****ing deal." comments...

I find this amusing.

I couldn't care less what profanity comes out of anyones mouth, but he is such a joke. He should kick his own ass.

Yeah, I think that my reaction to most profanity from the "whitehouse" has been amusement.

I think it's humorous that he says it so seriously.

It was better than the replies in this thread described.

Yeah! He hasn't completely changed our country in his first year, he's an idiot!*

Before Obama was in office, we had trillions of dollars in national debt, excessive government spending, and a recession.

Now, with Obama in office, things have changed so much. We have trillions of dollars in national debt, excessive government spending, and a recession. Yay, change!

Let me make it a little more clear for you:

You don't know anything about politics or economics or the other things that affect every administration ever, but you like blaming one person because it's easy!

Are you implying that Barack Obama and George W. Bush, along with most politicians from both parties, count as one person?

That's my feeling too, but let's see what Vice President Joe Biden has to say about it. Joe?

And tell me, exactly how did you come up with that from my response. Because it has nothing to do me complaining about his presidency or blaming him for anything. My post was supposed to be foolish just like his statement.

I'm not saying that "Oh my god this is so horrible!" I am just saying. Come on. Your the president of the united states, the highest office in the entire nation. It might be a good idea to show a little decorum when making rehersed and empty sounding threats. He sounds like a nerd trying to convince his friend that he can be tough too.

Like I said not a huge deal, it just makes him sound juvenile(sp?) and a little like some schoolyard yokel "I'm gonna find out who's ass to kick!" oh please, get out of here with that crap.

That's exactly why it's not a big deal. The president is not and should not be a role model for how to be a "good person". He should be a good president.

Lol, for me this does not even register on weather or not he is a role model. To me this speaks to his abilities AS a president and a leader. What he wants to do to BP's ass after the dust settles is irrelevant while up until real recently the gulf states have been tugging on his coat sleeve asking "hey... A little help?" while he wails on about "holding bp responsible"

I am not expecting him to single handedly stop the oil. He is the president, not superman. But seriously.

Ass being a swear word is news to me.

And hopefully there will never be another bush in the whitehouse. However I wasn't talking about bush. Unless Obama didn't actually SAY he wanted to know who's ass to kick, but merely inherited the phrase from the previous administration.

I found it much more amusing when he called Kayne West a jackass.

A.- because all throughout the entire 2008 race, Kayne ran his ignorant mouth off about his new personal Jesus, Barack Obama, and at that moment received a figurative slap in the face. (too bad it wasn't literal)

B.- He called it like it is. +10 points for you Mr. President.

If I ever became President, I'd still talk the same way I do. If anyone *****ed, I'd tell them to go play some Grand Theft Auto. If the FCC fined me, I'd lock them up for treason. **** yeah!

Obama will gain loads of respect from me if he goes to the local dive, gets wasted off of his ass, gets into a bar brawl, and comes back and does something positive for our country (like how about out of middle-east!), with black-eye, cuts, bruises, and slurring speech.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

I think it's great that instead of starting a pointless war, talking like a blabbering idiot, and frequently displaying blatant ignorance of the entire world, your president gets criticized for things like killing a fly, saying the word "ass", and politically incorrect use of the word "retarded".

You're not that far into his term, but it does seem like you made the right choice!
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.
