Mid Season Baseball

So I picked up my first pair of tickets this season for next week today, and I was wondering, what are you guys thinking of this season so far?

I'm enjoying the Twins, wishing they were playing a little better then they have been the past couple of nights. Mauer caught an amazing ball the other night and I can't wait to see the new Target Field.

Whats your thoughts on your home teams?

My Padres have faltered some this past couple of weeks. Had a tough road series with the Phillies and Mets including having to play a double-header (W: 3 L: 4 from the 7 game road stint). I like that we stood our ground against the Cards and the Phillies who are perennial postseason teams. If we make it to October, we can make it a series perhaps advance into the NLCS.

Baseball in general: Three perfect games in one season! Wow! And before anyone starts. Armando Galarraga threw a perfect game. Anyone who says otherwise will be banned. I ain't kidding.

I do not see Bud Selig in the proscription list.
TAKES HINTS JUST FINE, STILL DOESN'T CARE

It is interesting how no one team has really separated themselves from the pack just yet. Tampa Bay is probably still the best team out there right now, but a few others have closed the gap that was present at the start of the season.

The All Star Break is where I really start to get into baseball: not to imply I'm not right now but the season is so long I don't get as emotionally invested earlier on as to maintain some level of sanity for all these months. The Yanks have been beaten up but that team can overcome such things and is stil doing just fine, and the Brew Crew are basically what I predicted them to be. The only huge surprise this season have been the Padres if you ask me (As a sidenote, I really want the Padres to go back to their mid 90s colors, I think their unis are soooooo boring these days).

Cincinnati Reds are apparently 35-27. Tell me if that's a good record, cause I don't know.

Not exceptional, but still pretty good. Good enough to lead their division right now, which is all that really matters.

Braves are doing pretty well, leading the NL East right now. Wish they'd give themselves a little more breathing room though. Also wish Heyward would get out of his slump he's been in lately.

Also really happy David Price is kicking ass for the Rays right now. Used to watch him pitch in college all the time.

This is true. The Padres had a pretty good commanding lead of the NL West for a while. Then the damn Dodgers started winning and we've been neck-and-neck for a while now.

Blue, Orange, white?? Those were boring! I like our colors! I think we should go back to 1984 colors and willfully forget the 70s colors.

The Orioles seriously need to do something. Peter Angelos Coup D'Etat perhaps? Something. Seriously.

17-46? How the f*** does that even happen.

Why are you guys so bad? Even the worst years of the Padres, I don't recall them being this bad. You guys are on pace to lose 120 games.

Pitching sucks, offense sucks, defense doesn't care, no manager, bad coaches, , terrible front office, no unity, no fans in the stadium, heat & humidity, team unloads players as soon as they get good...

Plus that f***ing kid robbed us of a win in the 1996 ALCS

If the Cleveland organization actually recruited talent... as opposed to trading all of their stars for untested people... Ugh... I ****ing hate Cleveland.
