Toy Story 3

Who's ready for it? I'm going to hit it at the IMAX, can't wait. :awesome:

Crazy to think that this movie has gone on so long, virtually following my generation from Andy's age then to now.

My 1.4 year old daughter liked the dog from the first movie (they showed re-runs on Russian TV a few days ago). :) I don't think I've ever watched either of the first two movies in full, but I really liked the parts I've seen.

Oh man! You're talkin Pixar at some of it's best. Even from way back. I'd suggest getting them both, or at least rent them. Most movie channels, as well as disney channels, are running them at night.

Screened it in IMAX on Sunday night. Positively amazing.

I agree. The TS series has been some of their finest work. Plus, TS2 is full of Star Wars references and sound effects.

You know I was watching TS1 last night, and was pretty sure I heard the old school "AHHHH" sound when someone gets blasted. Wish I knew the title of that scream.

I'm looking forward to Toy Story 3. I'm curious how they'll continue the "love of your toy" theme.

I'll be glaring through IMAX 3D glasses tonight like the kid I was all those years ago. **** Yeah! Pixar!

First off, let me say, this movie is fantastic. Probably the best (fighting Wall-E for my number 1 spot) movie of the year in my book by far. Secondly, GO SEE IT!!! It's only going to be in IMAX for 2 weeks if you're that big of a fan, don't miss it!

Anyway, the movie ended the trilogy perfectly... I really don't know what else to say, I don't want to spoil anything for anyone. Just see it. Pixar deserves your money.

I'll probably take my kids to the matinee during the week next week to see it. I'm looking forward to it.

[edit: oh yeah, am I going to cry at this one? I'm a wuss-bunny when it comes to pixar flims.]

everyone on my facebook who saw it last night (including guys) all said they got teary eyed during it.
I'm proud of my life and the things that I have done, proud of myself and the loner I've become.

No I meant Toy Story 3 is probably the movie of the year, but for me personally, in terms of Pixar movies, it's battling Wall-E for number one spot.

It definitely has some tearjerk moments in it. It has it all, action, suspense, tears, and great laughter... They do it all.

I find it ironic that toys could be characterized so well compared to other movies released that feature human begins. The movie was brilliant; you don't even have to see the first two to enjoy this one.

By the way, the movie almost had a 100% rottentomato if it weren't for this one guy and Armond White (biggest critic troll ever).

The first one is definitely among their best, but the second one is meh. I don't know anyone who really liked it.

Definitely gonna see the third though. :)

Just saw it tonight. It was great, and surprisingly dark is some places.

Pixar magic in true form.

I just saw it earlier today too. The people who do the stories for Pixar amaze me to no end. I too was holding back the waterworks at the end, and the climax before it got really dark. O_O But yeah, all sorts of funny and such too. :D

Did anyone else think the short at the beginning was too heavy-handed and yet also sent a somewhat mixed message/metaphor at the same time?

This.

And yeah, it was tough not to get emotional at the end, its like I'd almost not watch it twice just to not have to go through the ending again. Amazing movie in all though.

I was thinking about seeing it, then I remembered I'm not 11 anymore. I might catch it on Netflix.

I never thought I'd see toys accepting sweet death as they tumble towards certain plastic-melting doom. THAT was intense. What an amazing movie.

I love the curve ball they threw when Lotso, despite being saved by Woody, turns on the toys again, sending them to the incinerator.

I wasn't expecting that.

Word, that part was VERY intense. All that was going through my head was "holy **** are they actually gonna do this". Seeing how it was the last of the trilogy and that Pixar has been getting very adult lately with Wall-E and Up!, I really thought it was a possibility and I think that's why it worked so well.

Second thought, I was just thinking a close rival to spanish buzz was the tortilla and cucumber bit with mr. Potato head.

Just got back from seeing it. It was really awesome, I like that it fit with the other 2 and had good closure. If it weren't for the loud highschoolers sitting around us, constantly belching obvious details about the movie in loud retarded outbursts, I probably would have cried at the end.

I got a kick out of Sid making a cameo as the garbageman.

Wasn't interested until I read this thread. Had a chance to go to the movies tonight and turned it down, now I'm kicking myself.

I'm gonna watch it now. I'll let you know what I think.

Edit: Oh god that movie was an emotional rollercoaster. I feel like a chapter of my childhood was just closed off to me forever ;_;

What?! No way! I missed that! Good thing I'll be seeing it again soon. Sadly, probably not in time for IMAX round 2. lol

I think Spanish Buzz's best moment was when he was dancing around Jessie in various ways Quality.

I pretty much quit reading this thread after my last post because I knew I'd see it and didn't want to be spoiled.

Sure enough, I just saw this movie this afternoon and cried like a little girly.

I DID expect Lotso to be a douche and send them to the incinerator . I DIDN'T expect the grim calmness as they headed toward the flames .

Girly-cry-moments:
1. I kinda expected Woody to be in the box at the end, but didn't think Andy would give him up and then play with the little girl, that really got the waterworks going. .
2. Of course, I boohoo-ed at the incinerator .
3. Mom looking at Andy's empty room got me teary-eyed (maybe it's a parent thing?)

I dont think that was Sid, Emon.

Sid was the wild, music-humming, garbage-top thumping garbageman that sported a skull on his black shirt early on in the movie. I think you him twice throughout. The garbage guy at the end is a fast, cuddly dude. :P (I thought it was dissapointing they didn't reuse sid there.)
