Futurama Returns! Your Thoughts.

Well, last night my favorite show returned. I have to say, I was not disappointed at all. The first episode seemed like it had to do a lot of work to piece the story back together, making the jokes feel a little forced. BUT, the episode after that was quality. I already can't wait to buy the next dvd/brd set.

I think Farnsworth's voice makes everything hilarious.

"Stem cells? Aren't those controversial?"
"In your time, yes, but nowadays, shut up!"
DO NOT WANT.

Professor Farnsworth is one of characters that makes the show what it is.

I love Farnsworth, but I think my favorites are Zapp and Bender. Zapp Brannigan is a genius character. The voice acting really sells his sleeze.

We've covered this... If you're going to talk about Futurama you need this:

Pretty much this. And what JM said about it seeming dirtier.

I liked them both. Excellent. My brother and I lost it when the Nimbus followed the Planet Express Ship into the ground while Brannigan was yodeling.

Also, "Mr. President! What the hell?"
2010-06-25, 11:03 AM #11
Yeah, the yodeling sold the Nimbus crash. Also, for some reason, when Bender burps fire and it wakes Leela up, his expression after she tells him to shut the hell up makes me laugh hard every time.

To be honest I wasn't really impressed.

Maybe when it gets into it it'll be better.

I was watching an old episode of it on tv while I torrented the new episodes so maybe it's just that it doesn't really feel quite the same. :P
nope.

Well the first episode really stretched to get the story back on track. But the one after that, with zap and leela in the invisible ship... haha great laughs for me.

The Adam and Eve thing made no sense, the ending of the V-Giny plot made no sense (Although otherwise it was good), Leela's character seems to have lost 100 IQ points, Zaps "Oh durf I lied" thing went on waaaay too long and was almost family guy bad.

Leela's new animation is awesome, and otherwise the show is great. They just gotta make their plot writing better.
2010-06-25, 12:15 PM #18
First of all, Leela's IQ always goes down around Zapp. Where have you been? lol

Secondly, I agree his lie noise was played once or twice too many, but it was funny initially. I have not checked to see if they have the exact same writing team as before. Hopefully no one was replaced.

Yeah... Same writers/directors/animators. The Zap thing went limp pretty quickly. Also, I love the 'Comedy Central Channel' joke at the begining of the 'Rebirth'. Reminds me of the 'Box' network. lol

Worth it just for Brannigan

"His Will Was Set, And Only Death Would Break It"
