Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe Socket 939 Motherboard (http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16813131517)

AMD Athlon64 3200+ Venice core

CORSAIR 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory

Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 OEM - Currently is and always has been installed on the exact motherboard above, so you will have no problems.

If you want I'll throw in 2 old (but working, I'm using them now) CD-RW and DVD ROM drives that I yanked from a blown up emachines along with one of those trick looking ribbon cables that isn't really a ribbon cable but bound and circular in cross section.

I'm using this PC now, but I'll be disassembling it this weekend in favor of an i5 combo. It's been a fantastic setup. With a 6600 GT 128 mb video card (which I am re-using for now) I have had no issues playing source based games at respectable video settings and 1920x1080 resolution. And that's a pretty crappy video card by todays standards.

A quick eBay "Completed Listings" search reveals that the motherboard still fetches $70 - $90 with or without a CPU attached. Soo...you figure it out.

That's a pretty crap setup, I mean I'm just being honest here. I would never pay more then 30 bucks for that. Why people on ebay pay 90$ for that mobo I will never know.

Good Idea, make sure to call it a "Gaming Rig"

I have a computer similar to that, except better video card and slightly worse processor. Almost the exact same mobo I originally had with this setup.

Sorry bud, our computers are old.
I had a blog. It sucked.

Side note,

I found this while researching my mobo.

Look at the 3rd picture.

Yep, have that MoBo too. I've got an OCed Opteron 165 in it. It's been good. I have it set up on a desk next to my primary PC with an 8800GT in it.

It's still much, much better than the system I'm running here.
And when the moment is right, I'm gonna fly a kite.

I have a similar setup, but I upgraded to a 3800+ dual core 939, and a ati 4670 and I'm playing CoD: WaW at full settings :)

I'd be willing to give away my old athlon64 3200+

Quality Motherboard, I ran the same one for a while. But yeah, not much of a machine there for a whole. Part it off, junk the rest.

Well the problem is you can't find 939 motherboards anywhere. So yes, they are going for $70+ on ebay.

Yeah but they are always openbox/refurbished. I check my local microcenter's openbox section daily. The last great deal I got was from cowboom.com (bestbuy's used clearing house). But it requires alot of persistance to find killer deals.

Do they have this openbox section on the website or do you have to physically go into the store? (microcenter)

Microcenter openbox stuff is shown on the website. They update it each day at approximately 6am EST. You also have to pick it up at the store. So if you don't have a 'local' store you are out of luck.

If I had extra money right now, I'd take that off your hands. Would definitely be an extra gaming rig for friends, or a decent dedicated server for a little older games.
