Oh man, that would be awesome. Does it say if the service will be available in canada? It currently isn't through the net.

Odd considering Netflix doesn't have ads and it's around the same price, actually slightly cheaper.

I doubt unlimited streaming on Netflix will continue too much longer at that price point. It would be nice, but I doubt it.

You know, if it weren't for Fox News and the fact that I get my internet from the cable company I would have no reason to pay a cable bill.

Hmmm. I could cancel my TV service, and stick with Netflix and Hulu and not miss out on anything. I suppose I will have to check what networks/shows Hulu offers to make certain, but it seems like a good idea.

[Cancel that - NFL starts in September, I don't think Hulu shows sports.]

Why? It has been for as long as it's been out, I'll tell you now if they try and raise the price anymore I will cancel the subscription because it's not worth anymore. I mean really the selection isn't all that good.

And I think that's where the crux lay. They will continue to expand the selection which, of course, follows the stated ideal that streaming become the primary means of delivery. Once those two things have occurred they really will have no choice but to raise the price. And, let's face it, if you can stream movies for a low, flat, monthly fee at relatively the same time they are released to the home video market it will be worth it. This fits well with industry goals to reduce piracy as well with the only real loser being Sony if there is a huge shift away from home video.

Yeah, they have made huge improvements on the TV side but that's because there is a huge catalog of great shows available. Getting the latest, greatest films up there is another challenge.

I didn't say it all wasn't good now did I? Or I wouldn't be paying the ****ing $9.20 [edit- 9.60, maybe they did raise the price I thought I was paying 9.20 like a year ago] myself

Will there be any sort of a delay period from the time the show airs on TV to the time it hits Hulu? This would be a great alternative for me...

Until there's a service that provides streaming of all of the major sports networks (ESPN, NFL Network, MLB Network) as well as your regional sports networks (Fox Sports Net, CSS, Sports South, etc.) in HD, I'm going to continue to keep my cable package.

So is non-plus just the same as it has been? Does it even exist any more?

They need to get all seasons of BSG on there.

It mentions 720p HD, although I don't know if that applies to all shows.

Sadly I have tried canceling my cable TV several times now, but they always give me some deal that makes it cheaper for me to keep my Cable then cancel it.

I'm with Comcast (the devil himself) and so have Internet as well.

If I cancel my cable flat out, my internet alone will be more then cable + internet combined at the deals they always get.

I'd say the title of this thread is somewhat inefficient.

Guys, unlike the rest of the threads on this forum, you will find the details of the topic "inside."

This is great news. I don't mind paying $10/month if I can use it on my computers, my BluRay player & my iPad. I cancelled my cable television several months ago because services like this & Netflix have made it obsolete (in my mind). It would obviously be better if there weren't any advertisements but I don't mind them (30 seconds is better than 3 minutes on cable/satellite). I'm starting to think that I wasted money on this 1TB hard drive (almost everything I do now involves streaming).
? :)

That seems like it would be deal I could use, if only it didn't cost me download as well.

I think the cable companies need to hop on board with this and offer all their channels, streaming via the internet if your a subscriber. They will be left in the dust if they dont.

Cable companies can't legally do that on their own.
