my upcoming crazy life!
2010-07-06, 1:40 PM #1
So I feel the need to tell you all the craziness going on in my life right now. Well, crazy for me at least.

First, this weekend (July 10th/11th), I'm moving! Not far, just about 10 miles south, but I'm excited all the same. I may or may not post pictures when I'm all settled in (and me with facial hair that Thrawnbot can make fun of no less!)

At the end of July, I'll be going with some friends to Otakon, which for those of you who don't know, is a pretty big anime convention in Baltimore where I pretty much live. I'm actually not a big anime buff, but it's fun all the same. Anyone else going?

On the weekend of August 14th-16th, I'll be driving to Madison, Tennessee (it's just north of Nashville) to visit an old Massassi friend Al Ciao (you all may or may not know him better as Highemperor). We'll be chatting up our NeS stuff.

Right afterwards, from the 17th to the 24th-ish, I'll be out in Canada-land (southern Manitoba) to visit another old Massassi friend, Krig the Viking. We may be filming a wacky fantasy-ish thing with some of his friends while I'm there (and chat up our NeS stuff).

Around the weekend of Sept. 24th-26th, I'll be a groomsman for Ford's wedding, zomg! I hope to get to visit Cool Matty too before I drive back, so we'll see about that. There may or may not be NeS chatting (not at the wedding though. :P)

And finally, from about the 12th-26th of October, I'll be out in western Australia, kicking it back with The Last True Evil! I may or may not chat up NeS stuff depending on how many hot Australian women TLTE can hook me up with... :ninja:

And hopefully, by the end of all that, I'll have completed the first draft of my little project! *crosses fingers*

So... who else has crazy plans in the near future?

Well, I had planned to go up around Baltimore somewhere on August 15th, because I heard of this sweet catch. Apparently the homeowner will be several states away and all his neighbors hate him, so they won't call the cops.

TLTE is from Australia? :omg:

Hey man, if we can work something out, that'd be cool. Most of seeing CM depends on him being in the area though, so it's not like I'm traveling all around Ohio or whatnot.

OK, Tracer. I'll be sure to let you know if he resembles the Crocodile Hunter either, asks me if I'd like any shrimp on the barbie while holding a Fosters, and yells that a dingo stole somebody's baby. :P

1) Your schedule's messed up.. When's the aussie trip?

2) Looks like you'll be free for my birthday. I'll expect you on the 7th of August.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

I have a crazy plan of continuing to be in Sydney, so look me up if "Western Australia" is anywhere near there.
2010-07-07, 3:40 AM #17
Errr. Ignore my brain fart. As I was typing it something in the back of my head was saying that Sydney and Western Australia didn't sound right.

Is it too late to save some face by claiming that I meant if you're stopping at Sydney on your way through?
2010-07-07, 6:09 AM #18
Melbourne, I'm afraid. And yes, for you people with your "observant ways" I did mean October for the Australia trip. Argh.

And yes, Ford, I know. CM has a friend who lives around you though, and he says he might decide to visit him then. Hence why I told landfish I wasn't driving all around Ohio. :P

Yeah, it's at least 4 days drive. I don't know either of you guys from a bar of soap, but I wouldn't mind meeting up if you two are in WA :)

Forgot to answer fish: I'll be moving to southern Elkridge, pretty close to Arundel Mills mall.

How are you able to:

  1. Have so much time off of work?
  2. Afford to drive and fly all over the place?

1) I get PTO (paid time off). I've been saving mine up for over a year, but even still I'll be "under" for a bit (the company I work at is pretty flexible in this regard).

2) I've saved up for a few years. This will put a pretty big dent in my savings, but it's important to visit these people to me. I don't intend to spend again like this for some time.

However, you didn't give me an exact date until shortly before most of this other stuff. But yes, you're in the clear. ;) :P

Digging this thread up to post pictures of my room. Behold, 3 of the 4 corners of my room! Alas, I screwed up the picture that has the epic headboard in it, so that'll be left a mystery.

I presume WA is Western Australia. 4 days is a pretty extreme drive to meet people you hardly know, so I'd not recommend it. I'm not adverse, but it'd probably also be something I'd have to clear with TLTE.

Yes. Visible from top to bottom: Gamecube, N64, Dreamcast and SNES, NES (with a 3rd party NES and Advantage on top of it), Genesis, and in the closet space, Virtual Boy. Not visible: Saturn, DS, GBA, Nomad, Atari 2600.

A ten foot tall reptilian-looking arachnid with seven tentacles out of his back, eye sockets with voids into madness for eyeballs, and an Ohio State baseball cap. Certainly not a normal looking dude at the least. I would post the photo, but he made me sign a lifetime contract in blood that I should bring no fun to Massassi or posting photos with him in it.

I was wondering when we would get a little update on this journey of yours. Almost two months and no word on how it was going. I was a little curious how Canada and the wedding went.

Canada was good! Never really spent time in rural-farm land before, so that was new for me.

The wedding went well also. I was in the wedding party and was paired with a pretty good-looking single bridesmaid who was almost 6ft! Too bad she hooked up with the photographer after the reception. :( Honestly, though, I didn't feel the need to press for anything and got some good dancing with her at the reception.

I may post pictures at some point, though as for wedding ones, I'll have to wait for Ford since I forgot to bring my camera.
