It is a shame that none of the San Diego Padres pitching staff is being represented in the 2010 All Star Game. This staff is leading practically every stat in the whole MLB with a team ERA of just 3.07. Heath Bell, our closer, is part of the Final Man vote. It is a shame to baseball to not let him on the All Star Team
Brandon, why should I do this?
Here is why.
Record: 4-0
ERA: 1.72 in 37 games
IP (innings pitched): 36.2
Saves: 23 (MLB leading)
H: 35
R: 9
ER: 7
WHIP (Walk and Hits Per Innings Pitched): 1.34 (this means he'll give up at least a BB or H per inning)
BB/K (base on balls per strikeout): 3.5:1 (he'll strike out about three guys per walk given)
Just a little personal story, he almost didn't become a MLB pitcher. He was all set to join the Marines, when his dad (retired Marine) told him to stick with baseball because that's what he does best. Not only is Heath Bell a fantastic pitcher, but he was willing to put on a uniform to serve his country.
Brandon, the NL pitching staff is stacked already with Ubaldo Jimenez, Tim Lincecum, and Adam Wainwright. Why do we need to put Heath Bell in there?
Again. Look at the stats. Those are impressive stats. Wouldn't you want that on your roster?
Brandon, Heath Bell was in the All Star Game last year and guess what he did, he blew the save by giving up a run. Answer me that.
Yes. I will not lie, he blew the save by giving up a run. That brought great shame to us all. However, I feel a man should be able to redeem himself and be given a 2nd opportunity.
Ok, I might do this. Where should I vote?
Right here!
In any case, Brandon, I think we can all agree that there are 8 Yankees players in the AL AST, and that is 7 Yankees too many.
You have my undying support in this cause!

Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.
