Borderlands issues?
2010-07-09, 3:30 PM #1
I just purchased borderlands and am running into some issues unfortunately.

When I set the game to my native resolution and turn up all of the video settings the game runs incredibly choppy and has black artifacts throughout all cutscenes that expand until they cover the whole screen.

my system specs should be well more then enough to handle this game at max settings:

intel e8600
XFX 4850
8 ghz memory

Has anyone else had these issues? Could it be due to my card being ATI, and the game not getting along with the drivers?

Your DVI cable isn't up to snuff.

I recommend this bad boy right here. http://www.amazon.com/Dvi-Cable-30-Meters-Long/dp/B000HS3F1Q/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1278718822&sr=1-3

Make sure to use the full length of the cable, as the farther away your PC is the less electromagnetic interference there will be.

Yeah if the cable is too close or too coiled up the interference will take gigahertz away from your memory.

Yes.

Try turning off vsync and ambient occlusion.

I have an issue with Borderlands:

It's dull and no one plays it.

Hey, it was great for at least half a play-through. Borderlands' designers, like most, don't understand the difference between "lots to do" and "little to do, but lots of it."
