Free Amazon Prime for STUDENTS

Thought I would let you in on this nugget I just saw. Free Amazon Prime for students for a year! That means free 2-day shipping for a year on all purchases. Also their textbook buyback seems to be really nice for us students when we try to sell our books and our specific university switches editions.

If only they had that when I was still in school.

Of course I've been paying for Amazon Prime for a few years now and it's well worth the $80 for as much as I use it (plus I share my Prime account with my mom so she can use it too for free).

Yeah, I've now gone to three different universities of which I still have email accounts for all of them, so i was able to give my grandparents, my parents, and myself free years of Prime! Woo

Yeah I wouldn't be doing that... They can randomly request proof of enrollment if they want to. Lots of places do that for student discounts (I know Apple does it with their student store).

Well one of them I go to currently, and the other I'm a student for the summer session , so I still have my letters and all that. So I have the proof if they need it.

Apple store has never asked me for proof except when I go in to actually buy anything. I highly doubt Amazon for ever order is going to request you scan a PDF of your acceptance letter or student ID. They just asked when I signed up for a EDU address and then they asked which school you go to. boom and boom.

Between student licenses and this, this part time grad school thing might pay off after all.

:D In Germany there is no reason to get Amazon Prime. It's supposed to give you overnight shipping here but most books arrive overnight anyway without paying for Prime.
Sorry for the lousy German
