Post Your Workspace

It's a rare occurrence that my workspace is this clean/tidy so I figured that I'd take this opportunity to take a photo & start this thread. I've moved my workspace to the right side of the room because we're putting up a room divider & turning the other side of the room in to the baby's bedroom (I'll post that when it's complete). The only thing missing from the photo is my server which is normally stored in the desk bay on the bottom-right (the power supply or motherboard has failed & I haven't time to take a look at it).

Feel free to post your workspace & any information about the items w/in said workspace.

My desk is 20 years old, falling apart, and was originally Frankensteined from 3 other desks.

I purchased the display model at OfficeMax (the last one in stock) a few years ago & got about $50 off of the sale price. It's a decent little desk.

I like the keyboard now that I'm used to it. I wish that I could say the same for the one on the laptop (it's a French keyboard). I'd prefer to have a Magic Mouse but I can't justify the cost at the moment.

Only problem with it is it's glass, so you HAVE to use a good mousepad.

This is my (messy) desk at work. Having my own office is nice. The thermostat is in my office. I have it set at 69 (nyahaha).

At home:

The space used to have a sliding door and be a wardrobe... made more sense to put the computer in. I still need to wallpaper behind it which is why it's ugly :P

How do you like that MakerBot? I was unable to convince my brothers to go in on one.

It manages to be really cool while also being a huge piece of crap. When it works it's sort of like being a god (one who can only make small plastic things). When it doesn't work it is incredibly frustrating. 3D printing is about at the stage where computers were in the 70s - you can get a super-expensive one for a business, or try your hand at a hobbyist kit (which will take hours or days to assemble and then weeks to get running properly, and break down all the time)

It's pretty rewarding if you put in the effort, though. Being able to conjure up objects in Blender that have never existed before; and then an hour later holding a solid copy in your hand... it's very cool.

From some of the videos that I've seen the printed object looks a bit rough. Is there any way to smoothen the objects out (e.g: sanding)?

A little cluttered right now, and I have a laser printer off to the right, but that's most of it. Pretty much the same as it's been for years, just new stuff sitting on it.

I have an Antec case very similar to the one you have (mine is a 1080AMG if my memory serves me correctly). However, mine doesn't have that cool window on the side.

I have the same. It's currently my bigass 6 TB file/backup server.

Yeah I honestly can't remember what model it is, I've had it for probably close to a decade now. I am actually considering upgrading now, I need a bigger one (one with more space for hard drives, and more room away from the video card).

It's served me well though. I like the window, even ignoring style. More than once caught my computer having fan troubles by seeing it.

it's since been cleaned (the monitor's red pixels burned out after I left it on for 4 hours with mIRC maximized. Whoops.), but it's effectively still the same. Chair is what I am in now, table's my mousepad and holds drinks, cell phone, knives, microphone - whatever I have laying on hand really.

Not much work actually happens here.
