TNG Season 3 (In the big fancy case, in pristine condition)
Doctor Who, the new series, season 2 (Holographic big case, pristine)

ATi X550, 256 Mb model. Used, works.
ATi X1950, 256 Mb model. Used, works.
DVD Drive, 20x. Used works.

Four or you can get lost.

i'll give you 50 cents for all of it

all jokes aside
TV seasons don't expect to get more than $10 each for them in fact expect people to offer less
DVD Drive... $5 maybe it will sell
the PC games.. realistic rummage sale prices... $2-5

you'll likely get more out of most of this stuff through ebay or craigslist
eat right, exercise, die anyway

Once you figure out a price, mark it up a little so you can talk it back down to what you want or even get more.

I would recommend using Amazon &/or eBay instead of Massassi.

I recommend against this. It's usually only old Jewish couples that bother to haggle at garage sales. Most people just turn around and leave.

You should start by pricing things what you'd expect to buy them for on eBay. Then, sell it for no more than half of that. Realistically, a third or a quarter. Garage sales are meant to be dirt cheap, and experienced garage sale buyers won't take a second look if your prices are too high.

Also all of these items are more well suited for eBay. Most people that go to garage sales are of older generations.

And if you make signs for your sale, don't be stupid and make them hard to read like 90% of everyone else. If you can't clearly read everything important from 50 feet away while driving, no one will see it. I always had success using large, neon poster board, green or magenta, and using very, very thick stroke letters made with spray paint stencils or very fat permanent markers. Like, stroke widths of 1-2 inches.

For the first time ever, I'm going to respond to an Emon-post like this:

gulp ... QFT. That hurt.

Unless your garage sale attracts vastly different people than my last one did I would be surprised if anything you listed besides the DVDs and monitor sell in any significant quantity. If you're having a garage sale anyway, put it out and see if you can get rid of it. I had three "vintage" computer systems for sale for pretty cheap. None of them sold. I gave one complete XP system to a Mexican family that didn't have any computer, I set up an old Win Me system in the garage, kept the remaining Win 95 tower but donated the remaining monitors to the Salvation Army, along with a ton of other stuff. I'm actually going to take a bunch old Disney VHS tapes down there today, as well.

One thing I actually miss about California. Practically everything would sell. Mexican-American-Californians are prolific yard/garage salers.

I remember the last yard sale that my family had. My parents forced me to sell my Atari 2600 & all of my games. I cried for a week. I will never forgive them.

Just throwing some info out there, these were great deals hopefully you can make out a little better.

Thru ebay within the last two months, I have purchased an 8800gt for $38 and a X1950 for $21.

Quake Wars: Enemy Territory can be found at Five and Below for $5. (new) or can be found on Ebay for ~$4 (new, reputable seller).

Most of the other games I own from Steam sales, I think it was something like Borderlands = $10, Vice City = $2.50, GTA3 = $2.50

The last DDR2 I picked up was Staples clearance sale, I paid $25 per 2gb stick.

Now I pretty much spend all my time looking for awesome deals, hopefully you can get a little more- but I guess that depends on how quickly you want to get rid of them too.

My wife does garage sales all the time, and she does them for others as well. I can tell you games and PC hardware don't do well, or rather, don't sell for much. Like others have said, people at garage sales are expecting rock bottom pricing.

You will make more money on all of those items by using eBay.

That said, how much for the Season 2 of Dr. Who? :ninja:

Send me Borderlands, the DLC, and $2, and we'll call it even.
If you think the waiters are rude, you should see the manager.
