Apparently sucks this year because it's been taken over by twilight and glee fans. I'm not even going and I'm angry.

Doesn't really seem like something Twilight fans should be going to. Nor Glee...

Sadly, the day of the Nerd is here, and we're going to have to endure 'popularity' and all the morons that come with it.

:carl:

I effing hate Glee MORE than Twilight. At least Twilight has vampires in it, albeit faggy vampires, and a tight brunette who's blatently gagging for it. Well thats what i thought.

My brother and housemate both like Glee, but then they are both gay.
**** you Glee

Thank God that the last 2 Star Wars Conventions, Celebrations 3 and 4 that I went to were not infected with such a gay invasion, Im disgusted and tired of this pop culture thing called Twilight and what the hell is Glee? Its sounds like its beyond gay! What the hell is happening to our world? :argh:

i honestly don't think either should be at comic con. there's not even any sort of comic element to them.
I'm proud of my life and the things that I have done, proud of myself and the loner I've become.

Such an old person mentality in such a young person -_-. Spend less time bemoaning and more time acting, if you see it as such a problem :P

Glee? What does Glee have to do with comics, sci fi, and nerd fandom? When I think of comicon this year. I think of Tron Legacy (new trailer released), Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, Captain America, Star Wars, and Thor.

A couple of my friends are there. It's their first time attending. They say it's pretty cool, but yeah - too much Twilight.
2010-07-24, 4:18 PM #17
I watched G4's live coverage of comic con today and didn't notice anything about Twilight. Are we talking about too many Twilight fans or too much Twilight material?
2010-07-24, 6:00 PM #18
They said it's both, but that the Venture Bros. panel was pure :awesome: and Warburton was there
2010-07-24, 6:45 PM #19
I think the majority of the complaints are centered around all the tweeny twilight fans running amok, making crowds and generally ruining the comfortable nerdy atmosphere.

an oppressed group that dresses and acts differently and is condemned for it
You can't judge a book by it's file size

I don't have any problem with Glee nerds because at least they like something that's good, but I don't understand at all why they'd be at Comicon.

Twihards can get the **** out of everywhere.

I think if you could tell me why I'm wrong, you'd have done it already instead of asking a question to which the answer is already obvious.

umm. no. You just said yourself answer was "obvious"
But I'll humor you:

The story line overly dramatic and unrealistic.
The characters are unbelievable.
The music while sung well, is usually arranged in such a way that any emotion in the song is destroyed. In a word, sold-out and commercialized.
The whole overall theme of the show is PC bull**** (Everyone's perfect just the way they are. there's no need to try and better yourself <--ie. the fat girl)
The actors in the show are good singers.. but not good actors.

*sigh* you want me to keep going?

Jorge Cham of PhD comics made a point of sticking a Twilght poster in the background of his latest comic about going to Comicon.
"Flowers and a landscape were the only attractions here. And so, as there was no good reason for coming, nobody came."

A musical show is dramatic and unrealistic? No way!
