I'm pretty sure it was Superman 3, the film with Pryor, and one of the sucky ones.

...Because they are both guys military uniforms who shoot things and the distinction doesn't matter to most people, especially since they are fictional space marines so the distinction doesn't even really matter? I am sorry I am a party pooper in this thread.

Because, for some people, the difference between "land" and "water" is also difficult to grasp.

To be honest that's not really fair... because the Army isn't really relegated to the ground at all.

I think that was a highbrow attempt at humor that we couldn't be expected to understand.

Or "dush" (pronounced the same) if you mean to say "shower" in Russian. I was in Russia few years ago and was alarmed at the number of people who asked me if I wanted to dush.

Douche is french for shower.

Anyway to the TK comments on Superman: its already been done sort of with Superboy. He has Tactile telekinesis, which gives him the appearance of super strength, flight, invulnerability. As far as Superman's invulnerability, you guys aren't too far off. I heard it explained that basically Superman puts up a shield that protects him. This shield is only just above the skin, hence why his costume rarely gets torn or anything (cape does, because its not right next to his skin). As Superman gets into a real heavy fight with someone who could possibly beat him, like Darkseid or Doomsday, his powers dwindle and that shield shrinks until he starts taking damage.
obviously you've never been able to harness the power of cleavage...

He puts up a shield? But to begin with he didn't even know he was super till her survived an explosion...
Unless it's a subconscious thing....

It's not a mind-power. His body radiates the shield. It's part of his physiology.

Yes, now that you mention it, superman 3 was the worst. Lois is "out of town" the whole movie, n supes tried to bang a single mother, then gets drunk and has this 5 o'clock shadow that looks horrid. Oh yah, and he fights himself in a junk yard cuz there are no other villins or anything to fight because nothing can relly hurt him. Yah its retarded. Its got the same bad guy as baseketball (Robert Vaughn), what dose that tell you?

At least in superman 4 they tried to bring it back, with Gene Hackman and the kind of stupd Nuclear Man. It still sucked, but at least they tried.

Oh, yah, When I said Richard Lester, I ment Richard Donner. The first 2 were the best. Long live Christopher Reeve.

Nothing is worse than Superman 4. The Godfather Part 3 is better than Superman 4.
nope.

But Superman can literally form diamonds with his bare hands. I'm pretty sure he's higher on the mohs scale.

HAHAH Though I agree that Godfather 3 is better that Superman 4 (which isint saying much either way) I just though having Gene Hackman made it kindaa legit. Also,I found it easier to believe superman fighting a nuke dude, as apossed to Superman fighting himself. While Drunk... Really? I would assume that superman cant get druk anaway. Unless he drank more than Robert Downy Jr.

Or X-ray vision.

The mohs scale measures a material's hardness, not it's strength. Diamonds are very brittle. A diamond saw can cut steel, but a steel hammer can smash a diamond; there's no reason at all why superman would have to be harder than a diamond to crush coal into a diamond.

By that logic, the only way to create a diamond is with something harder than a diamond.
2010-08-20, 8:11 AM #74
LIKE HEAT, the only known substance harder than a diamond. Which, BTW, is what Superman's hands are made out of.
