I just upgraded my internet to turbo or whatever Time Warner calls it:

I am happy with my purchase. I tried to find the old thread where everyone posted their speeds but couldn't find it so I figured we could do it again, I'm interested to see what everyone averages. I used speedtest.net to do mine.

Doesn't someone here have like 100 down at CERN or something?

Why do ISPs limit upload speed so much....

I wish my RR Turbo gave me decent upload speed like that. It pisses me off, really.

Yeah, you know what's really sad? My phone, with 2 bars on 3G, gets faster upload speed than my RR Turbo connection.

whats really sad is that I have a 5 gig per month bandwidth cap. 6 hours per day unlimited bandwidth, but its so slow I can hardly download anything anyway

157mph on my old ZZR600. It had a "speedohealer" to record the highest speed so I could take a picture after I stopped (so I wouldn't die trying to take a picture at over 250kph).

Meh. I always think my connection is pretty quick until I see the numbers some people put up. Then I remember the days of thinking 56k was fast compared to 28k and wonder what the difference must be between what I've got and what the really fast connections feel like.

Not bad IMO, considering the network has 4 laptops, and I'm beyond the range of my laptop even picking up the network, using a booster. Without booster I can't even find the network, yet for some reason the booster picks it up and gives me usable speed.

I would take half of my speed for download if I could get just 1-2 more mbps on upload.

I think the forum record is CERN followed by RIT.

I have some crappy Comcast right now and I don't want to talk about it. :argh:

I miss my 40 Mb (downstream) connection. :(
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

I like to laugh at all of the former RIT guys as they post their new net connections.

Though none of them have it as bad as me and Zully.

I'm just teasing, dude. Same thing goes on where I live, which also is out in the sticks. There's only one high speed ISP.

Considering I'm not in college anymore, nor do I work for one anymore, I think it's pretty good.

Some of you make me sick. I'm on about a 5.5mbps cable connection (at home, I'm not there right now...)

We're hearing rumors of Fiber coming to our area around 2012, so if the world doesn't end :awesomelon: hopefully I will be doing better.

The first test ran with everything as usual. XBox on in the living room and Vonage box powered up.

Turned off XBox and Vonage.

Stopped tray applications I figured might be sucking bandwidth.
