You know what I'm talking about...

Smashmouth - Allstar
LFO - Summer Girls
Limp Bizkit - Rollin'
Kid Rock - Cowboy

we made these people rich?

My girlfriend paid a lot of money for that tv; I want to watch ALL OF IT. - JM

Allstar makes me want to cut my ears off.

Most over used song in movies, ever.

i can agree with that statement.

Macarena.

You all now have that tune firmly ENGRAINED in your minds now on an endless playback.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

Is this the real life?
If you think the waiters are rude, you should see the manager.

Rollin' and Cowboy still have their moments for me. They're associated with certain personal experiences of mine.
2010-08-24, 10:56 PM #8
i never thought those songs were cool
eat right, exercise, die anyway
2010-08-24, 11:33 PM #9
I don't think there are any songs I thought were cool but no longer do. I was always pretty discerning.

How about songs that seemed stupid, but in retrospect, were actually really awesome?
I'm just a little boy.

When I saw the thread title the first thing I thought was "Allstar"

If they are bad songs now, then they were never good to begin with.
Bassoon, n. A brazen instrument into which a fool blows out his brains.

I hate Kid Rock so much it's actually easier to try to like the holocaust than him.

That said...

Trapt - Headstrong. That song got huuuge... but it's really not great.

They had much better filler songs on their albums than singles.

Linkin Park - One Step Closer
Papa Roach - Last Resort
Shaggy - Angel
Hoobastank - Crawling in the Dark
Think while it's still legal.

Uhmm...most of these songs are awesome, and always have been, and always will be. I am sorry, I cannot participate. My opinions on songs rarely change. However, I can no longer enjoy Puddle of Mudd, even songs I used to like, because I find them super annoying now.

By which I mean, Blurry is a good song, but I can't listen to it anymore because of Psycho.
Warhead[97]

How about, bands that use to be cool but now they suck.. Slipknot
"Nulla tenaci invia est via"
2010-08-25, 2:06 PM #20
I like most crap songs like this on some weird level. They're definitely not good, but they're still somehow enjoyable.

Awesomely bad and that's why I love it. Also just about every other song mentioned in here other than Headstrong. Allstar I can live without too.

We'll Be Singing
When We're Winning
We'll Be Singing

I Get Knocked Down
But I Get Up Again
You're Never Going To Keep Me Down

Pissing The Night Away
Pissing The Night Away

He Drinks A Whisky Drink
He Drinks A Vodka Drink
He Drinks A Lager Drink
He Drinks A Cider Drink
He Sings The Songs That Remind Him
Of The Good Times
He Sings The Songs That Remind Him
Of The Better Times:

'Oh Danny Boy
Danny Boy
Danny Boy...'

I Get Knocked Down
But I Get Up Again
You're Never Going To Keep Me Down

Pissing The Night Away
Pissing The Night Away

He Drinks A Whisky Drink
He Drinks A Vodka Drink
He Drinks A Lager Drink
He Drinks A Cider Drink
He Sings The Songs That Remind Him
Of The Good Times
He Sings The Songs That Remind Him
Of The Better Times:

'Don't Cry For Me
Next Door Neighbour...'

I Get Knocked Down
But I Get Up Again
You're Never Going To Keep Me Down

We'll Be Singing
When We're Winning
We'll Be Singing

I cant believe no one has said Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice Baby

That song was epic in its time... not so much now.

Also I think it may be possible that Yellow Submarine may have gone though an opposite-process of what we're talking about here.

Yeah, I love the offspring and hate the fan base. Going to their concerts is tough.

If I recall, Forrest Griffin used Tubthumping to come to the octagon. It was quite hilarious.

Watching the coverage from Reading reminded me: Almost the entire discogrophy of The Libertines.

Listening to them now I just can't help but notice how much it sounds like 2 blokes making a **** attempt at Clash songs.
nope.

No Doubt - Don't Speak

It was sweet when you were all young and enamored with Gwen Stefani's strange forehead dot, but nowadays you have to think about the fact that you listened to her whine about breaking up with her drummer or whoever for most of 1996.
