NCAA (Real) Football Thread

The first weekend of NCAA football is heating up. Lots of blowouts on the first day, but what else is new?

Living in Ohio, I'm already sick of morons going around talking about how Ohio State is on the road to a National Championship after winning one game... against Marshall...

How about someone else OTHER than the SEC? One can only stomach so much Florida and Alabama.

I think this season I will attempt to pay attention to college ball more.

I'm glad USC hired Lane Kiffin. I wasn't sure I could hate anyone more than Pete Carroll, but Kiffin has proven me wrong. God, that guy is a giant douche.

Got my season tickets, just like every year. Vandy vs. Northwestern at 6:30 tomorrow night. I will be there for the SEC vs. Big 10 battle of the nerds.

Being a graduate of Marshall, I had higher hopes for that game, but of course, it was the opening game, against a much better team, and with a new head coach for Marshall.

Going to miss Leach but looking forward to seeing what Tuberville can do.

Terrified of the anger and ferocity inside of him just waiting to burst out! (on the football field).

SEC nerds are going down! Nerds.

Go Bucks! But I'm definitely not calling national champions until we see a few more games. Still some kinks to work out but they are looking strong.

Oh god... here's hoping that Brian Kelly brings a better defensive gameplan to Notre Dame than what I've seen in the past decade.

I'm more relieved than proud that we beat Vanderbilt. Two losses in a row to inferior SEC teams would have been too much to bear.

I don't much care for American football but we had our big game here yesterday (Louisville versus Kentucky). It appears that Louisville took it in the ass at home.
? :)

The refs helped a bit at the end there. :P

I only had radio coverage. Still trying to find video of the hit.

It was a clean shoulder-to-shoulder hit. It happened not that far in front of me, and they showed it pretty clearly on the replays up on the scoreboard. That is the epitome of Vandy football right there though. We dig ourselves into a hole with stupid mistakes, then as we're climbing out of that hole, something like that happens.

The bright point was that statistically our offense was better last night than they were in 11 out of the 12 games last season.

Northwestern is thrashing Illinois State, and I'll be at Texas-Wyoming tonight. God I've missed football.

I know how you feel, Mac. I missed football so much. There's never a time on Saturday when there's nothing worth watching on tv.

Oh god... I hope Dayne Crist goes back into this game sometime soon. Otherwise I'm going to spend my afternoon pissed off.

I pray to god that Crist doesn't go down again this season. Montana and the 2nd string dude were both horrendous. It was really impressive the way the team rallied behind Crist when he came back. There's no doubt in my mind who the leader of that team is.

They were certainly close. I wish it would've happened.

Anyways, MY TEAM WAS VICTORIOUS YET AGAIN AND PUT UP 70!
