apparently Ole Miss(University of Mississippi) is trying to get a new mascot. None other that Admiral Akbar!



i dont know if the video is accurate in that lucas said they could not use him as a mascot or if the school is trying to not allow it, but yes...

The mascot thing was real. There was a real push by the student body to get the admiral as a mascot. Lucasfilm Ltd. said no. End of story.

It would be hard to cheer against Ole Miss as a Gator fan and Star Wars fan. I'm pretty sure Florida's been using jetpacks and laser beams since 2005, though.

I don't recall claiming they have been, although I can't figure out why they dropped in the polls after beating USF by 24.

The jetpacks and laser beams comment is a joke from the Gator Country forums. I honestly can't remember what started it.
