At first I thought "Good for him, and fair enough he'd want to maintain his record". But when I got to this:

Quote:
Given the fervor that comes with each new record announcement, it's obvious that none of the three previous record-holders are going to rest. Which competitor are you rooting for?

it just all seems so very sad.

Deadman: It's only sad if it consumes their lives at the detriment of loved ones or other responsibilities. Otherwise, it's just like any other attempt to set a record. Seems less sad to me anyway than a lot of other Guiness book records.

To the topic at hand, I'm a bit surprised they're able to make higher records. They're basically hoping the kill screen doesn't kick in until they break the previous record at this point, aren't they?

That's what I was quoting implied.

From what I understand, the kill screen happens after a set number of completed screens. The score, at this point, is probably just milking every last possible barrel/hammer/fireball available on each level to gain a few hundred/thousand points by the kill screen.

I just got dedication from the quote. As in they're not just doing it for kicks at one point, they want to do better. If I recall, Weibe was trying to beat his own record at some point, though I may be misremembering that.

KOP_AoEJedi: Ah, that would make sense.

But he's a man who knows how to get **** done.

He started his own company. And he was more successful than Wiebe before the movie was even made.
