Anything while I'm Australia(n)?

What the thread name says. Want me to do anything/keep an eye out/etc. while I'm in Australia? If it matters, I'm in Perth. So far, I have done the following:
  • Had a couple pretty good local beers so far (been taking photos for MacLongname and his beer threads)
  • Checked to see if The Last True Evil (the Massassian I've been hanging out with) looks anything like the Crocodile Hunter (he does not).
  • Kept an eye out for how the toilet water flushes (no luck so far since their toilets don't spiral, it's just a mad rush of water that I remember were popular in England).
  • Hit up a few museums and the largest library in the state.

And I'll certainly be planning to hit up their famous beaches tomorrow.

Locate Jereth Kok of Assassinate Darth Vader and other custom DF levels fame. I really miss the guy and haven't been in contact with him for ages.

Perth is about the only major city I didn't get to see when I was in Australia years ago, but it sounded like a pretty awesome place.

While I don't know much about Aussie beer, Cooper's Extra Stout is very good by any standard.
If you think the waiters are rude, you should see the manager.

I'm pretty sure if that fantasy ever came to be, it would spell disaster. :P

Also, MacLongname, I'll keep an eye out for Cooper's, but hopefully I'll add quite a bit to your beer threads with what I come across. Admittedly, I'm a poor judge of beer, but perhaps I'll get lucky and come across some you all will be envious of me having had. ;)

Haha, I saw that car featured on Top Gear not too long ago and I instantly fell in love.

There's a V8 supercars race this weekend, if I were you I would totally be there. I guess the track is near Brisbane.

Minus the supercharger and detumed :(

The one I'd like specifically is the vauxhall vxr8 bathurst edition.

I heard Australia is consistently turning to suck. I haven't met any Australians that want to stay in Australia.

Is this true? Does Australia suck?

I don't know about the rest of Australia, but Perth is apparently booming. It's actually rather disgusting how much richer the rich are here, and how more expensive things here are in general. If I had the money, though, it'd be worth it, since Perth from what I can tell is like Southern California without most all the crap.

And Baconfish, here's a video of what most are like in the U.S. (complete with cat!)

I couldn't find a video of the kind I usually saw in England and here in my lazy half-second search.

Find my brother and chase him.

He is a Mormon missionary in Perth. And by Perth I mean that whole side of the country but I think he is in the city around now.

You'll recognize him by his uncanny resemblance to Louis Stevens

Yeah, that's Perth. I don't think there are any other human settlements in that half of Australia.

Once again, I doubt I'll be able to randomly bump into anyone, even with such precise details like an "uncanny resemblance to Louis Stevens" in Spook's case. :P

This thread's title is missing a key preposition.

I totally fixed the thread for you Geb. Totally. I'm sure this is exactly what you wanted the title to be. *cough*

I just assumed Geb was temporarily Australia (and so can you!).

Did TLTE baulk at the idea of meeting up with me? (I have zero NeS contributions)

I'm kind of near the Queens and Scotsman pubs if you want to go get a beer, but pretty much any watering hole is fine by me.
2010-10-21, 3:03 AM #29
So I'm afraid at this rate my contribution to the beer thread is going to be pretty sad. The Last True Evil claims I'm a good drinker from the party we attended last night, though I think he's just entertaining me.

You're in Perth? I was under the impression you were 4 hours away from that place! If so, I'll meet up! In any case, though, we'd have to talk details if you wanted to do that.

Just for the record, we have purchased 3 new toilets in the past year here in the US and none of them spiral. The old technology ones did but newer ones don't seem to at all.

Wow, you wear out your toilets quick
