Need for Speed Hot Pursuit

Is anyone else as excited for this as I am? Finally the devs have done away with this ricey race through -insert american metropolis here- BS and made a proper NFS game again.

No cities, no crews, no body panels, no neons, no upgrade packages, no obnoxious lose the police chases..just a massive super car selection, tracks that are purposefully unrealistic, and cops chasing you during the race. Just like it should be.

I am massively stoked.

Yeah all that sounds good but I bet it will still feel like an arcade game :( Just have to wait for a demo or something

Consoles got more powerful, lost a major feature of the previous generation.
Up next: only one controller per console!

I also liked the customization bits. Especially the one that actually had a bunch of muscle cars in addition to the ricers. It actually had a nice mix of muscle, ricers and exotics... But I guess I'm nearly alone in liking that.

I liked it in other games like the Midnight Club series, but not NFS. Especially growing up on NFS 2, 3 and HS.

Most Wanted was pretty good. I remember drinking and driving a lot in that game.

Wasn't there already a Need for Speed Hot Pursuit?

In fact, yes there was. Wikipedia says so.

Yes, but that was Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit.

I know this, because I have it :P

So has anyone played it yet? I just found out that Criterion developed this one and I'm suddenly very, very interested.
nope.

It's trying to play like Gran Turismo. I do not like that. NFS has always been the over the top, tune your ****, etc etc game and GT was the watch-your-car-actually-do-realistic-things-in-most-cases game. Also, you'll be lucky if you have more than 5 colors to choose from on your cars.

Also, there's no horn cheat. NFS3 is better.

NFS3 all the way. I did like HP2 when it was out on PS2 though. I think I still have an old PS copy of the first two.
