Did you know there was almost a Beetlejuice sequel?

Quote:
Burton hired Jonathan Gems to write a sequel titled Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian in 1990. "Tim thought it would be funny to match the surfing backdrop of a beach movie with some sort of German Expressionism, because they're totally wrong together", Gems reflected. The story followed the Deetz family moving to Hawaii, where Charles is developing a resort. They soon discover that his company is building on the burial ground of an ancient Hawaiian Kahuna. The spirit comes back from the afterlife to cause trouble, and Betelgeuse becomes a hero by winning a surf contest with magic. Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder agreed to do the film, on the condition that Burton directed, but he became distracted with Batman Returns...

... In March 1997, Gems stated that the "Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian script is still owned by The Geffen Film Company and it will never likely get made. You really couldn't do it now anyway. Winona is too old for the role, and the only way they could make it would be to totally recast it."

I did know that, and everyone who knows what the plot was supposed to be (Tropical Tim Burton) knows why there was never a seaqual.

On another note, Michael Keaton is ****ing great in that movie. He was my favorite batman as well. (**** Christians Bat-Lisp) Keaton I think is just an awesome actor all around, multiplicity is awesome too!

Beetlejuice is also (fairly sure...) the only PG movie that says F***.

It was rated PG13.... and there are a lot of PG13 movies where they say the f word.

No it wasn't. When it first came out it was PG, it wasn't until the DVD release that they bumped it up.

They had to move it up to PG-13 on dvd because of Keaton's intensity...

Yep. "****! Even in the future nothing works!"

Along with a few other things that had no business in a PG movie, like "I bet she gives great helmet."

In PG13 movies the word "****" is allowed to be used once.

Freakin spambots...

Anyways... Keaton was awesome in The Other Guys. Not a big Ferrell fan. Mainly I went to see it because Marky Mark is a better actor than a musician. He's not even that great of an actor, which goes to say something about his first career choice, lol.

But I didn't even know Keaton was in it until I was sitting in the theater. It was awesome.

This was my favorite movie as a kid.
I'll admit, a few times I've considered purchasing the NECA Cult Classics Beetlejuice and hacking it apart, combining it with a decently articulated figure so I could have an articulated Beetlejuice figure, but that's a bit absurd.

-And yeah, Keaton in the Other Guys was great. Walk in pairs, people.

Only if it's used sexually. If not, then it can have 3-5. Also, I think the movie Big dropped an F bomb, and that was PG.

I have no idea what constrained me to post this.

The best part is Batman and the Joker are both in that picture.

I don't think so. I just watched Big the other day with a friend who'd never even heard of it. It's possible the F-bomb slipped through but I think I would've noticed.
