I didnt see a thread for black friday which surprised me so I'm starting one because I actually went out and shopped for the first (and last) time.

Anyway, post what you got here.

I got me a new laptop for $200 (plus 50 or so for the 1 year free break the crap out of it deal).

Also got the wife a new Nook for $99 plus the 45 dollar break the crap out of it deal (she needs it she already broke one )

Best Buy/Toshiba screwed us over and he seriously could not give a crap. Didnt want to take the loss despite all the advertising of a $189 laptop. So the first guy who got one payed about $330 for the same laptop I got just because the "geek squad" finally caved and started to 'override' the price once the manager fled to his ivory tower. Good thing becaus I'm a pretty calm easy going person but I was feeling the rage coursing through me and I probably would have embarassed myself trying to ***** out these poor Best Buy guys who simply received the wrong computers.

I got a new computer desk at staples, a real nice one that is solid and has a hutch on top.

I also got a new TV: Vizio 55" LED 120 Htz. Would have gone for the 240 but they wanted 600 dollars more... w/e 120 is still pretty nice

I picked up Red Dead Redemption from Amazon for $29...Fable III as a gift for $29.99, and a 500Gb external HD at Radio Shack for $49.99 (we went back later with a $10 coupon to make it even better). That's it, though...I didn't do much this year.

2TB External HD for 70.00 (picked up two)

I went to Radioshack hoping to find some nice Sennheiser headphones, but all they had were stupid Skullcandy earbuds. So I bought some CD-Rs instead.

I keep hearing about this ****ing 2 TB for 70 dollars thing and I have not-buyers remorse like crazy. I don't even need more space but 70 dollars.

Picked up some more STEAM deals as well, i guess that's like black Friday still.

All for ~1k CAD, with about 50+ bucks in rebates to come back further down the line. None of the deals are too crazy, pretty much just your average retail sale clearing out the old stuff to make room for the new.

In response to this deal, on Black Friday I got a text from my best friend, after his girlfriend picked up the hard drives, saying "I need to marry this woman. She's smart enough to know that $70 dollars is a ****ing outrageously cheap deal for 2TB of hard drive space".

It's only 5900 rpm, but should serve most peoples needs.

The sales this year have been mediocre at best... Unless you're in the market for a TV, then it's good shopping.

Game deals this year are horrible. DVD/BRD deals aren't much better.

actually there were plenty of decent bluray deals... wal-mart had a reasonable selection of $5 blurays and amazon had some great deals on movies i already owned
