I don't understand why in the world half of these words are even autocorrect options. I have never had this issue on my phones, ever. (Yes, they autocorrect wrong sometimes, but never so... inappropriately)

i'm assuming it learns from your own typing habits.... so yeah it would depend on the person doing the typing

It learns patterns of frequently used words, but it will not learn new words unless they're used in a contact's name or if they've been typed in through Safari. It won't learn new words used in other applications for some silly reason, unless they've changed it recently.

Honestly, the best autocorrect implementation I've seen on a phone so far is WP7.

The problem with iPhone's correction is there is little indication when it does that, and there's no choices as you type. That's something both Android and WP7 have.

Yeah, to get choices you have to go back to a word you've already typed and tap on it.

S is close to A, C is an outlier, and K is close to L. Anal is actually a really common word for iphone autocorrect. I think I've also had Furher come up before too.
