Urge to play old games?

I was watching TV last night, and randomly... I was like " I want to play Commandos"

It was so random. You guys ever get the random urge to play an old game?

I collect old games, I've got just about every worth-having game on SNES and N64. Working on NES.

edit: the answer to your question was, yes... yes i do.

I used to be a big fan of Home of the Underdogs before it went under.

Also tried out Thief 2 recently, it's pretty neat.

I beat Mega Man 2 a couple days ago. Hopefully I'm gonna start Monkey's Island 2 soon.

When I have the urge to play old games, I have a bunch in my room. Sometimes I crack out Tetris Attack when I'm stressed.

Great game, Very Hard mode will cause controller-breaking rage fits.

Old games, best games.

I'm playing Morrowind for the first time right now. I've played Deus Ex to death. I consistently go and play Doom I and II using GZDoom and all of the mods. I've got Fallout 1 and 2 on a waiting list. I play Half Life 1 about once every other year. Occasionally I play JK, and I plan to play MotS soon (I never fully beat it). I play through MGS 1-3 every other summer. I went through a Kingdom Hearts kick last Christmas. Rarely ever do I play a game made in the last five years. I love old(er) games.

Plus it means I can run all of my games at highest specs :D
I had a blog. It sucked.

I've been playing a lot of Gran Turismo 5... While the game itself is brand new, I'm convinced the AI is vintage 1998...

Old adventure games are great. They usually run in DOSbox or SCUMMVM.

Meh on Rune. I thought it would be cool but after a few levels I got totally bored.

I'd love to go back and play TIE Fighter.

Loved that game so much. Also, Freespace.

I usually play through Full Throttle and Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis every couple of years. Lately I've been wanting to play Sam & Max Hit the Road though I cant find it anywhere.

Multiplayer and LAN Parties are what made Rune for me.

It's because it's December. I get this every year, pretty much.
It's the association with every Christmas throughout my childhood when I got a bunch of new computer games, and got to experience the joy of playing them for the first time. Year after year, this association was enforced. I imagine most people on this forum have the same association.

When I wore a sweater all day for the first time in the season (only a couple weeks ago--I'm known to tolerate cold well) I felt a random urge to play Jedi Knight. The nostalgia's just been getting more intense since then. When my exams are finished, I'll finally have the chance to sate my urges.

Yeah except the Mass Effect 2 ending was an order of magnitude easier. 2 nuke shots, instant win.

The ending of SM wasn't that difficult.

Few blasts of the Hyper Beam and Screw Attack out.
