I wonder if he knows that there were people like us that actually continued that game in many different home made versions with the help of editing programs and that there is a web site or two that corresponds to the JK Dark Forces Realm? he should feel honored!

well to answer your question, 'no.'

I don't know why he should personally feel honored, :P, he just played the guy in the videos.

I do want to go on adventures with him, but if my experience with you, from whom I desired to hear the sounds of sweet sweet guitar music, is any example, adding someone on FB isn't the way to get that which you seek from them.

This. I never understand when people can't separate an actor from a character.

Either of you got a link? A google search for "Evidence Wine" turned up only pages about evidence of pre-historic wine making.

Nevermind: I simply typed in evidencewines.com and it took me here:

I've spent the last couple of days reading a bunch of wookiepedia articles because of this thread. The Star Wars lore really is fascinating and sprawling. I wonder if there is actually anyone from any of the original movies or really any star wars media that has kept up with any of this stuff. Are there any superfans among the stars? I don't think Lucas himself even knows about half of the developments in his own universe.

Also, did anyone play Galaxies? Do they include all of this lore? If I go to a planet where there's supposed to be an ancient sith temple, can I find it?

I'd hardly call it sprawling. Every background character in the OT now has a completely fleshed out story, which consists of all these characters constantly tripping over each other because they run into each other so much. Authors in the EU apparently are so completely devoid of imagination and creativity that they are unable to come up with new, unique characters with their own stories that aren't related to the OT is some way, shape, or form.

I'm sure everyone is just joking around and having a laugh about it... I doubt they are taking what they say literally.

Granted, I stopped reading EU a while ago, so I can't comment on recent publications, but I liked the "everyone ties back to the original characters" shtick, a la Wheel of Time. While Jordan may have included an in-world cause for this (ta'veren), it can be a nice method of storytelling to literally have an entire universe revolve around a central set of characters.

But the story doesn't revolve around a central set of characters. The problem is, with so many authors, and so many story arcs stemming from the OT, everyone is tripping over each other and writing stuff that contradicts each other. If you read wookieepedia, half the articles are filled with retcons because there are so many inconsistencies.

Oh. That kind of "tripping over". I thought you meant "tripping over" as in "encountering each other."

I understand it generally worked that way, but I never got very far into Galaxies, just played the demo.
However, if you want sprawling lore, Bioware's The Old Republic has Dromund Kaas in it. So I look forward to an entire planet of broken guns and missile launchers.

Thinking about trying to friend him and if he accepts, every time he does a wall post I'll reply with some JK quote or jedi joke.

Please people, if you're going to request to be his friend be respectful. Don't pester him with Jedi jokes. I'm sure he's a nice guy, but the game was just a job and he's been done with it for years now.

If being a Jedi wasn't role model enough, he went and started travelling the world and being a wino*.
