First of all, the remember me thing NEVER works. I always get logged out when I leave.

Second of all, when I go to type my name to sign in, there is nothing originally there, but as soon as I hit "d" to start typing dash, Chrome fills in my entire username then proceeds to add a "d" to the end of it which I have to arrow over to and delete. This happens on SOME massassi sign in pages, but not others. For example if I click "reply" and i'm not signed in, it takes me to a full-page login screen. It will do it here. It won't do it if I just use the top mini login area.

I realize it's probably the browser. What gives?

It's the browser, for both issues. There's no HTML that could have any effect on those things, and the HTML that is there is written correctly, so...

The first issue sounds like Chrome isn't saving cookies for whatever reason, I'd check your settings, or even try clearing your cookies.

As for the fill-in issue, sounds like it has your password saved but only recognizes it as being saved on some pages. Unfortunately, again, nothing to be done about that.

Also using Chrome. Works fine for me.

for the 2nd issue, it sounds like at some point in time you wrote your username in with a type (d at the end) and then went to log in and saved it. So now it's pulling that up thinking that's what you want. You should be able to clear/reset that memory.

*keep in mind I've only ever used Chrome for about 5 minutes. (didn't like it)
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

I agree with Sarn.

This is definitely not the case. I just tested it again (had to sign in again of course even though I was just here a minute ago) this time I clicked inside the username field and hit Z - it filled in my name and put a Z at the end. I can clear the passwords, lets see what happens. (pretty sure I have before and itjust goes back to this eventually)

[Nope, still does the same thing.]

Do you have any privacy type plugins or addons that could be messing with stuff? There are some that block cookies or delete them after each session. Are you using incognito mode on accident somehow?

I have adblock on my firefox and don't get that. It's probably a completely different piece of software on chrome though.

I have adblock and chrome and uh... I dunno if that happens 'cause I'm always signed in.

btw, you can delete your saved usernames/passwords by going to Wrench > Options > Personal Stuff > Show Saved Passwords.

...I forgot I had turned cookies off. :v:
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.
