To be honest this thread is partly an excuse to post this sweet thing that I scored for £150 last week. [That's about $230 to most of you.]

:neckbeard:

Anyway, post your musical stuff, instruments, equipment, music collections etc. :D

I have a mostly unpicturable £40 ****ty electric guitar that I need to wrap my coke-stained, chubby fingers around and twang mercilessly for a little while some time.

As soon as I get new headphones.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

I have a Martin acoustic, nothing special pretty much bottom of the line but still a nice guitar. And an Ibanez s370, blocked the floyd rose bridge and installed Seymour Duncan distortion pickup at the bridge.

I have a lovely 1954 French cello that really doesn't take well to the cold climate I'm living in. I also haven't played it in a month. :(

I have one just like this. Schecter Omen-6. Bought it to replace an Ibanez RG470 which I did quite like, but I like to change tunings around too much to really enjoy having a floyd rose tremolo. I run it through a Digitech RP90 effects pedal and a Line 6 Spider 112 50 watt amp. I mostly just pluck around, but I do know a lot of chords and scales, and lately I've been learning a few riffs here and there.

I also have an ooooold Yamaha G-150 classical guitar that I like the sound of.

how do you find the Takamine acoustic? I tried one in a shop a while back and liked the feel of the neck, it had quite a narrow profile so it was easier for me to play than most acoustics.

To be honest, I'm not very happy with it's brightness. It does have a narrow profile and it has great action and it's a lot of fun to play, but it just lacks the happy, bright sound that I expect from large acoustics. That being said, it does have a very full and vibrant sound, which is good, but I like a bit of crispness and sharpness in my guitars. So I guess it comes down to preference. I'm going to try some different strings next time on it instead of D'Addarios and see if that helps at all.

I've got a Fender Jaguar too but it sucks balls because it's a reissue made in Japan.

Guitars on my wish list:

- Gibson Firebird
- Fender Duosonic
- Fender Jaguar
- Fender Mustang

All vintage, no reissues, no Squiers, no Epiphones, USA only.

I'll post a pic of it later, but the wall has a 2003 Samick QF101, a 1998 Ovation Balladeer, A 2009 Ovation Celebrity, a 2010 Les Paul Custom, a Yamaha electric (don't know the model), and a 2010 Epiphone SG bass.

I've also got a 1953 Martin D45 that I keep in storage.

Aside from that I have a '56 Conn Constellation trumpet that's pretty amazing. It's nickel plated, so it's heavy as hell.

I want to buy an electric piano or a high end keyboard at some point and learn how to play.

I have two main guitars that I play. I have an ESP LTD EC-300P, which has a body style similar to that of a Les Paul and has P-90 pickups. Then I have a store brand acoustic that sounds pretty decent given the price paid. Then I have a Line6 TonePort UX1, which is a direct input into my computer and has a variety of effects.

I also have a Yamaha YSL-648R trombone. It's a large bore with a closed wrap F attachment.

wooooo man, i was gonna say looks like you need some new ones. smart to save your nice ones though, those bad boys get expensive.
thats one of the two things i hate about drums... everything for them is expensive. also they are a pain to lug around.

Yeah it sucks, and I hardly have money at this point to spend on new ones. Whats great about Sabian's as opposed to Zildjians is that they have a lifetime warranty. If I crack an HHX (which isn't too hard to do) they will send me a new one in a week, give or take. I find that its pretty common for guys to steal cymbals, for obvious reasons, so I feel a lot better using crap ones that still project for bar gigs and stuff of that sort. If someone stole my cymbal bag I'd say good riddance haha.

As far as the lugging part I've pretty much isolated everything to hard cases. I purchased a 7 piece set of semi hard cases at guitar center called nomad cases. They were $200 for the WHOLE set. Freaking steal. For the hardware I use a hard snap hinge golf club case. Eventually I'd like to upgrade everything to SKB cases but thats mondo $$$.
