bed time

What do you guys generally see as the stopping point for being awake? The moment when you go 'Oh ****, its 3am, I should go to bed.'

Right now it just hit 2am for me and i realized that its time to put the laptop away and force myself away from being awake.

And on top of that, what is too early to go to bed?

I work nights so it varies. It's after 3am and I am wishing I went to bed over an hour ago...but here I am. Meh. When I'm working, I work 'till 7...so 3 still seems early.

My sleep changes depending on my work schedule, and naturally, left to no other obligations, it'd likely keep cycling different hours. I seem to be a nightowl mostly by nature, though, so taking some average, I'd say my bedtime has been about 4AM.

Right now, my work schedule is 12:30PM-9PM, so I'm likely to stay up until at least 4, if not later. When I was working 8AM-4:30PM prior, I'd usually go to sleep on average around midnight-1AM.

Generally go to sleep sometime between 11pm and 1am sometimes as late as two, but any later and the next day is going to suck. Also anything earlier than 9 feels too early to sleep for me.

Similarly, my "work" schedule is about 10PM-7AM right now...and I'm not much of a day time sleeper...

Usually go to sleep between 10-11pm. Depends though. If I'm really bored, I might go to sleep around 9:30.

Usually between 11 and 12 at night.

I used to go to bed at 12 AM all the time but then my work finally got to me and lately I've been going to bed around 10:30 PM on weekdays and 12 AM on others.

I love sleeping, even though I stopped having cool dreams years ago. Oh well.

I try to go to bed usually around 10-12. If I am particularly anxious and on the computer by 10 I will usually stay up until 5.

I try to be off of the computer (and I don't really watch TV) by 9 so my brain can wind down with more traditional forms of stimulation, and then I go to bed when I feel like my body wants to. But it doesn't really matter because I have nightmare type dreams constantly and wake up every 60-90 minutes especially if I have to get up at a specific time.

I always want to go to bed sooner, but it ends up between 11 and 1.

Seems like we're all on the same page. I try to get to bed around 11, but it always ends up being midnight or 1 am. When I'm working regularly I tend to get into a good 10-11 schedule, though.

Typically, I go to bed between midnight and 1 am. Some nights it's a little after 11 and the past few nights, it's been between 1 and 2. When I start my new job, I imagine it will be between 11 and 12.
2010-12-20, 10:03 AM #16
It varies very much. Anywhere from 10PM to 3 AM. But I usually always get up around 9:30 - 10 regardless without an alarm.

Since my son was born I can count on one hand the number of times I went to bed after 10 PM! Okay that may be a bit of an exaggeration.

I am crepuscular these days.

Lately, without work, I get up at about two PM and go to bed at four ir five in the morning. This can't be good.

I go to bed at 2-3 am pretty consistently. What changes is when I wake up: 7 am on school days and 10 to noon on weekends/breaks.

This. If it's past 11pm and it's a weekday, I should probably already be asleep.

I put 10pm because that's the time that andrea and I have established to be our official bedtime. That said, I usually fall asleep on the couch around 9-9:30, or sometimes earlier. Andrea then wakes me up at 10 and we go upstairs to the bedroom. But then I have to get up at like 5am at the latest.

My sleep schedule is all over the place. Two weeks ago I was going to bed at 7am. Last week it moved to about 5-6am, then I couldn't sleep so I just waited a day and went to sleep at 10pm. Now I'm hovering in the 12-2am zone.

I just got a job in security today, and judging by the hours I'll be working I'm screwed to ever have a normal sleep pattern

Bed time is right now since I went to bed at 1 last night.

I actually think things are heading there. Perhaps more slowly than we'd prefer, but really, when has the time of day and location ever been more irrelevant to productive work than today?

I wake up for work at 6 so I try and go to bed around 10ish... when I don't get enough sleep I can be quite cranky.

My classes start at 4 PM, so I usually sleep at 4 AM. Fits well with my last 6 months ever of crazy undergrad parties.
