I have a 2002 Saturn SL2 in pretty much perfect mechanical condition.
But... got hit by a trailer hitch today. I was really tired from staying up to drive a friend to the train station that I wasn't thinking and didn't get the guy's information. Words cannot express how upset I am with myself for handling the situation improperly. He apologized and offered to call the police, but I said don't bother because
His truck was untouched so he didn't care. It was behind a local bar and a bunch of people saw it, and he may have been a city worker so hopefully he or his friends will show up again. He was at fault so his liability would probably cover it (I have no collision).
I was hoping that a couple plastic panels would be cheap to replace. Nope! Quarter panel costs $300. What ****ing bull****. It's not even fiberglass. Hopefully a junkyard has what I need...
Edit: The fact that a fender for this car costs three times what it did for my Cavalier suggests that the prices are inflated just so no one will repair it on their own. I saw a guy on YouTube remove a quarter panel in 6 minutes flat. You could do it under 30 minutes if it was the first time you ever touched a screwdriver. It's too easy
