uTorrent for OSX

For those of you who use uTorrent on OSX --

I can't seem to work out this problem -- for certain torrents (or certain trackers, I should say), uTorrent shows a red download arrow and can never start a download. Moreover, the connection status (lower-right corner) orb is gray and it says "Connection problem". So I can't download anything.

The same torrents work fine and at at full speed with Transmission, so it's not a problem with the tracker. However, other torrents (with different trackers) seem to work fine and at full speed in uTorrent, so it's not uTorrent (???)

I've googled and this seems to be a relatively common problem; I've tried all the common solutions (port forwarding, etc) and they do not work.

If anyone has had personal experience with this problem and solved it, I would greatly appreciate your insights :)

uTorrent isn't really very good on OS X. I'd stick with Transmission.

Plus one for Transmission. It's never let me down, not that I use it very often.

A lot of trackers have specifics on what torrent clients they support. I seem to remember a big stink a couple months ago on some of the bigger private trackers about not wanting uTorrent because of the way it reports data.

Like people above, I'd recommend Transmission. Has worked on all of my private trackers, not to mention it's labeling/auto features are untouchable.

Yeah, it was real fun having to run two versions of uTorrent for a while... fortunately I came to my senses and decided to give up on TV.
