I see but one solution.

Find him. Challenge him to a duel in Ogel's City. Obviously the true Ogel could navigate his city well enough to win a battle there.
I had a blog. It sucked.

I used to go by the name Couchinator

then one day in 7th grade I was sitting at a desk and noticed on the heater someone had etched in "AIM = Couchinator" then some numbers I don't recall...I messaged him and he told me that he was far older than me, and had been using that name for a long long time...

ALL OF THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE

*takes off mask* I knew it was you, SF_GoldG_01!

I'm kidding, you've actually done something and made it original, Ogel

I've had that happen on other forums, where "Chewbubba" has been already been taken. Granted, I'm so old, it's probably me and I forgot the password. But some it isn't. And I've been using that nick since... 1997?

I think Thrawn has handled the situation the best. In fact, now that I think about it, when Chewbubba has already been used (and none of my stock list of passwords work), then it's going to be "Chewbubba[numbarz]".

Vader: OBi Wan never told you about Ogel45!

Luke: He told me enough...he said you killed him!

Vader: Nooo......I am Ogel45!

Luke: Nooooooo.......Nooooooo!

Back in the day when I actually used Steam for multiplayer gaming I used the ah-so-clever nickname Krematorious. It was pretty stupid even back then. And yet for some reason at one point I had to change my nick because someone else was using that all the time. Weird.

Anyhow, there's also a 'fastgamerr' on some Turkish forum. Go figure.

Uh... its the internet.. I'm pretty sure ANY witty name you think of is probably taken, or has been taken at some point since the creation of user names.

Its kind of like AIM. :awesome:

Glad I went for an unwitty name then!

There are certain go-to names I use in times of desperation that have never, ever been taken.
I admit one day they might be, but I think the odds are low that they will be used by someone other than me in my lifetime.

Not saying them here in case one of you bastards do something to prove me wrong =p

Edit: they're not witty though, just nonsensical and long. Pronounceable, but strange.

My last name is common in Finland. I beat tons of people to the punch by joining gmail when it was still in beta stage (2004?) and using simply my last name @gmail.com. Little did I realize that there would later be a terrible price to pay for this...
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

Right.

Wimps.

My nick is always taken. Everywhere. That's when it's even allowed.

I had to get Brian to register it for me here, in fact. Because the system said it was too short.

I often find it difficult to cope w/ people that have the audacity to use the same handle as me. It's almost as if more than 1 person in the world has read "Dune". It has gotten so bad lately that every time I go to register my handle w/ various new services I have to attach my birthday to the end (or worse). It took several years of therapy & challenging random internet-goers to "BGJ FF" (many of which replied w/ "WTF is that?") before I realized that it could be much worse. Imagine that your handle was "The Highlander" (there can be only 1).

Surprisingly mine isn't taken as much as I thought it would be. Though I fanatically used it for multiple sites when I came up with it so no one else could use it. Though I failed to have it be my xbox live user name. Thus, Fandom_Pacock was born.

Once in a blue moon someone else uses the name Baconfish, but they're almost always somewhere similar to another website I visit so I'm pretty much convinced that someone stole my name. :(
nope.

I have never, ever, in 10+ years, found the name DSettahr to already be in use when signing up for something new online.

I used to be called Stormie before I decided it sounded like a female swedish porn star. So an insult off Red Dwarf replaced it.

Ogel45? What does the 45 mean? Apologies if I missed something obvious...

Same. I'd be suspicious if I found it was taken.

I alternate between Ghorg and Khorg, mostly at random. But about 7 years ago on an Ultima Online server, I ran into a guy called Khorgor (while named Khorg), we argued for about 5 minutes over who was the original.
