And before anyone says that people in Texas (or the southern states in general for that matter) overreact regarding icy/snowy conditions...well yes they do, but the problem is the cities don't react at all. They are never prepared - which is usually why the situation is far worse than it should be. Other places that tend to see a lot more snowfall or ice have preparations in place to help resolve the issue, but Texas? No. We just throw some sand on top and call it a day.
Of course not. Why should they waste a bunch of money being prepared for something that happens once every century or so?

Pickups are the worst in snow if they don't have 4x4.

Oooh I created a private little Google intranet site for my department of 3 today! It was super exciting.
Fincham: Where are you going?
Me: I have no idea
Fincham: I meant where are you sitting. This wasn't an existential question.

Ordered a synchronizing switch, sent off a big work order for approval, talked to a vendor about some structures I ordered, attended a little class on giving presentations, and made up a cost estimate for another project.

Replaced a swing plate assembly in a noisy HP Laserjer 4300. Also replaced a system board and processor in a Dell Latitude E6410 laptop.

Only about 2 hours of work, spent the rest of the day browsing the web.

I investigated why WebSphere Application Server 6.1 caused an infinite HTTP 302 redirect, but WAS 7 didn't. Turns out, you have to tell WAS to not be stupid (as stupidity is its default behavior) to resolve this issue.

First I fed the squirrel...

Then I learned to carve a wood relief. This being my first attempt. Not that great. It's supposed to be a wolf howling at the moon but the picture I used as my base wasn't too detailed... also my fault since I was the one that drew it.

I think that actually looks great!

Yesterday I spent the entire day running around trying to talk to one of the principles of my company. Never. Ever. Want. To. Do. That. Again.
