Lol, sorry about that Jin. Forgot that some folks on the board can't watch it. I should also, probably, put a warning in the title for some of the images in the video. Although not entirely grotesque, some people might not like seeing charred flesh.

I don't know about that emon. It sounds very similar to a process I read about in wired (the boob issue) where they take stem cells from body fat and use them to regrow breasts that have had partial or full mastectomy. Pretty neat.

Oh, it's real in the sense that it's based on real work. This is basically a last resort for people that are so severely burned that they can't accept regular grafts. It isn't some magical therapy that you spray on and walk out four days later. There is NO WAY that anyone could grow that amount of skin and vascular tissue in four days, it's just not possible. What they probably meant was that it was healed enough to be discharged after four days.

It's NatGeo sensationalist crap. It's just another method for treating burns, it isn't some miracle fix.

for some reason i didnt get any audio with the video. are they saying this stuff looks like normal skin after all healing is done? as opposed to they way skin grafts/burns often look?

Honestly. Every time I see one of these notices, I pretty much write off whatever company made that decision.

...except I wrote off National Geographic a long time ago.

This comment on reddit (and some of the replies) is a pretty good summary of why I'm skeptical. Except he's an actual biomedical engineer.

I guess National Geographic should stick with their forte: aliens and prisons.
