...do you tend to follow the same pattern? I just noticed that if I'm doing something and watching a movie/etc, I always put the video on the right side. It seems weird to have it on the left.
woot!

Video on left, chat/whatever on the right. Mostly because it feels more natural to me to dart my eyes to the right. Exception the the rule is games in a window, they go in the center.

One monitor for the spec, two monitors for code and one for testing.

At work I have my laptop and an external monitor to the left. Things tend to decay from the laptop screen to the external one depending what's more or less important at the time.

Eg Lotus Notes with my mail and such is always on the left. Spreadsheets I'm working on tend to stay on the right unless I'm working on something in the environment at the same time for a change in which case the remote desktop session goes on the right and spreadsheet on the left.
Also, I can kill you with my brain.

One monitor for the spec, one for the prototype, one for code, one for debug output/status monitoring, and one last one for exceptions.
And when the moment is right, I'm gonna fly a kite.

Depends on where the blank (or advertising) space is in the windows I'm using.
If you think the waiters are rude, you should see the manager.

I typically work with all windows in fullscreen. If I decide that I'd like to watch a video while I'm working, or need to reference something, I'll make that as small as I'm comfortable with and maximize the area of the active window. Sometimes for the latter, however, I'll just tab back 'n' forth.

Before Windows 7, I didn't bother moving windows around too often. I've always had Trillian on my secondary monitor though. With Snap in Windows 7, I move stuff around a LOT, especially browser windows for watching movies. I almost always watch video on the right monitor as it's much larger and full HD.

In general, my left monitor is my "general use" monitor. Trillian is always docked on the left of it, the taskbar is set to it, Firefox is always on it (I tear tabs off into their own windows when I watch videos), mIRC is always on it, Grooveshark is always on it.

The right monitor is for work or gaming stuff. Word, TF2, Netbeans, all of those stay on the right monitor to make full use of the larger resolution. I especially like Word over there, because with Snap I can have two Word windows side by side perfectly, and still see a whole page without scrolling horizontally.

I can't watch a movie and do other things. If I'm watching something, I'm watching it.

At work, it's laptop on the left with Building Designer running and an instance of Chrome with my google calendar up; on the right my desktop usually running a second model in Building Designer (normally for answering queries), another instance of Chrome with Springpad up and my email minimised.

Usually got VS2010 up on my right monitor and then whatever else up on the left at work.

At home it's a little trickier, cause I only have one monitor, but it's a 2560x1600 30", so I tend to just arrange things however I see fit at any given time. It's a shame that Aero Snap doesn't have any built in support for snapping to corners, as that would be very useful for me.

Two monitors

Working mode: Word/Excel on the left, paper PDF/browser on the right.
Gaming mode: Full screen on left, movie/TV on right.
Fapping mode: Browser on left, download directory/VLC player on right.

Yeah, that pretty much covers it.

There are some great videos out there that aren't available on streaming sites like spankwire or xvideos. Think JAV - multiple scenes, 2 hours long, 3 gigs, etc. Of course, I'm not watching it through all the way for 2 straight hours - just seek around and stop on a scene that strikes your fancy, do your thing.

I would say it's the same for me as well, but I do tend to go back to a few occasionally, especially when I'm pressed for time and can't be arsed to search around. The main reason I download is mainly due to better selection/quality.

Huh? Snarkface, I said that they're two hours long, not that I actually watch them for that amount of time.
