Free domain to good home - editopia.net

I registered editopia.net a long time ago when we had dreams of expanding Massassi to cover other editable games. If anyone wants the domain for free you can have it as long as you promise to do something non-scummy with it. Anyone interested?

The only thing I could conceive of using it myself would be something related to editing written material, but I don't have the vision or the drive to follow up on that train of thought.

I totally have an idea the domain name would work for, but I don't have the time to do anything about it.

I don't have the faintest idea what I would use the domain for but still must fight an almost overwhelming impulse to take it.

Lol, im with JM there is an overwhelming urge to take it just because it is free.

Hey Brian,

Hmm. I'd be happy to take it and maintain it, but I wouldn't have the time to work on it for at least 4 months. I'm also purchasing a video game review website which I plan to get back on its feet w/ some staff writers and working on a creative writing (read: copywriting) agency as part of a one big media project.

So if you'd be willing to give it to me, I can promise that within 5 months I will create and maintain a site about video game editing (newer engines, tips, tools, industry advise, best mods, you name it). Probably WP platform.

How much do you pay for it per year?

Koobie is a big rich business man?
2011-03-11, 1:41 AM #9
No, not rich, not yet a businessman. Not even that big, as I lost 10kg or so in the past few months. :P

But sick of working for a megacorporation... Have the necessary management and organizational skills from my work experience, have the necessary writing and editing experience from, well, experience. ;) Have the people who share the skills and ethusiasm, but have specific knowledge. Have a willingness to invest time and money. So we'll see.

I think it's 8 or 10 bucks a year but I also pay an extra 8 bucks per year for private registration which keeps my personal information out of the WHOIS database. You will have to register for a username at GKG.net and then I can transfer it to you with no hassle. I think they have a policy that you have to keep it with them for 90 days or something after a transfer but after that you can transfer it to whatever registrar you want. Koobie if you register there and pm me your username I will transfer it to you. Like I said, the only promise I need is that you won't use it for anything scummy. If you ever need to drop it because of financial reasons come back here and offer it to someone else, and if nobody wants it just let it lapse, I don't want something as stupid as a domain name to be a burden. And if you decide to use a different name no worries.

Nothing scummy, no worries. Sent you a PM, thanks a bunch!

Cool, transferred. You may want to re-enable the "transfer lock" on that domain. I disabled it thinking I had to in order to assign it to you but now I can't reenable it since I don't own it anymore. Good luck!

Got it, thanks! Turned it on. Awesome, thanks again!
