Pretty much all men in my family go bald by the age of 28. I'm approaching 25. I need to make the most of my hair before it's gone!

So I need suggestions for awesome hairstyles.

Luckily at the moment it's shoulder length so I can do pretty much anything. Right now I'm thinking a Noel Fielding / Ronnie Radke look.

Any other ideas. Just awesome hairstlyes. Maintainability, colours, anything doesn't really matter... since I wont have it for long anyway

Only thing I'm not going to do, because I already looked into it is dreadlocks, mainly because it's apparently it can make baldness happen faster due to the weight/strain.

I started going bald at 26...and I'm still 26, so I'm not bald yet, but I'll definitely get there...I have no idea how long it's gonna take, though! I mean I have that "male pattern baldness" receding going on that's slowly but surely becoming more noticable, and my hair has thinned overall and it takes more effort to hide any bald spots when I comb my hair than it used to.

Anyway, I think you should keep it long (and change it up somehow if you want but still stick to long hairstyles) now that you can still sport the long hair without looking ridiculous.

Shave it

I plan on shaving it totally bald as soon as I can no longer get away with long hair. I like my long hair though I don't want to go bald before I have to.

Skirted egg shell get's my vote

I guess a tonsure is out.

Triple Mohawk (so you don't have to shave the sides), then a sideways hawk (like a mohawk, but perpendicular instead of parallel).

When I was in middle school all the cool kids carved nike symbols into their hair.

Then poor kids like me carved K-Mart

You are aware there's a 50% chance you inherited your mother's hair genes?

She's balding, too (trust me).

Once you begin to go bald I'd highly recommend a skullet (e.g: Hulk Hogan) &/or a comb-over (e.g: Donald Trump). If you completely bald, I'd suggest growing a nice moustache.

When my hair started thinning on the top I got a mohawk. It was sort of a test to see how it will look bald. Not bad, though when I shaved all of my hair off a few months ago it didn't look so good.

Right now it feels like I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't shave it all off.

Premature male pattern baldness is largely X-linked. Basically, that probably means your foremothers are to blame, and it's just a coincidence that a lot of the men in your family ended up with bowling balls.

Grow an enormous beard instead so it looks like it just slipped round your head rather than fell off.
