Its a hard drive between the Droid Bionic and this guy for me. HTC generally makes better products though, so idk. The Bionic has the dual-core processor but from the CES videos I've seen, it runs just as choppy as every other motorola handset out there. Maybe thats just because it was a prototype though, we'll have to wait and see.

Don't expect that kind of speeds everywhere, or even in most places, or even where he is. In fact, I'm not completely sure that's even accurate, as 28mbps seems to be way faster than should actually be possible by that device, not to mention Verizon is going to be capping the hell out of that.

It looks all right I guess. To be honest I'm still using the old HTC Hero from Sprint that I got a week after it came out. Haven't seen a model yet that demands an upgrade to, though I wouldn't mind getting one with a real keyboard since I miss that more than I thought sometimes.
Also, I can kill you with my brain.

My next phone will absolutely have a physical keyboard. I can get away with an onscreen one, but physical keyboards are so superior it's not even funny. Even my Pre's tiny scrunched keyboard was better.

Something like Swype is so far superior to physical keyboards, it's not even funny.

I'd go with the HTC one. Sense is a lot nicer than Motoblur, it's one of the only manufacturer skins people actually like. HTC also provides updates more often/more reliably/quicker than Motorola.

Having used swype for over 6 months I can certifiably claim it is nowhere near as good as a physical keyboard, and in fact I even prefer the default keyboard to it.

Reasons:
1. It has significant trouble with words that appear on the same row of the keyboard.
2. The corrections offered can sometimes be wildly different. Anytime I have to completely retype a word, it significantly slows down typing.
3. Its learning system is not foolproof. It often will suggest words you add over other words, meaning over time a large custom dictionary can ruin the system.
4. Anything requiring any sort of symbols slows down typing significantly.
5. Its overall accuracy over time will actually worsen, especially over months.
6. It can actually bog down the phone when typing. Typing on websites is notoriously slow, often to the point where using it is impossible entirely.
7. It is nearly unusable when on the go. Even riding in a bumpy car can make it a pain, as your finger flies everywhere.
8. Swype shares this issue with the default onscreen keyboard: you cannot easily type blind, without looking at the keyboard.

Overall, I find that over time, I fight with the keyboard more than I type with it, and for that reason I no longer use it.

I've found that for almost all applications my onscreen keyboard works just fine on my D1. The only time it gets to be a pain is when I'm typing in my browser like now. For some reason all phones always get laggy when it comes to this. Most of the time I type much faster on a capacitive touchscreen now then I ever did on a physical keyboard. (I say capacitive because I recently used a resistive on my gfs old phone and it was murder)

My only beef I run into with virtual qwertys is the key lag that sometimes occurs when you type fast. I've found there are several factors that may cause this. For one the HTC ime itself is slightly laggy on underpowered devices like mine. Other apps may run smoother, like for me its all about smart keyboard pro or the gingerbread keyboard. Also the phones CPU and memory play a huge part in how well the keyboard keeps up with you. Before I overclocked my phone and ran custom roms, j hated my keyboard passionately. Now it runs super smooth for me most days. The thunderbolt should run into none of these because it has enough memory and processing power. Also when it gets updated to 2.3 the responsiveness will increase even more. I am running a 2.3 rom on my phone andit has never run this fluid. Its like iPhone smooth.

A lot of keyboards do lag in the browser. The problem with swype is, that lag actually makes it impossible to type at all, since it completely loses track of your finger. Also doesn't help that since swype is such a heavy keyboard application, that it actually contributes to the lag significantly.

Yeah I have never been a fan of swype. To be honest it hurts my hand.

I'm dumping the Touch Pro 2 today for an Epic 4G. I was hesitant to go with Samsung over HTC (Evo 4G) but from everything I've read on XDA and PPCgeeks, it was the better choice. (For me.)

I'll likely come back to HTC someday when Android has netflix support (universal) and there's a better unit in the Sprint line.

Aoejedi, you'll like the Epic, it's been a pretty good phone to me.

Had I known it was coming out, I would have gotten the Epic over the EVO. It's a good phone.

Yeah the phone itself is great, good hardware, but android really is a whole 'nother story

If I buy one and tape my Hero to it, does it count as dual core?
