Are there Bill Nye Science Guy "shows" anymore?

Or any 'science = fun!' type of shows for that matter? For those of you never lived in the US or never had PBS, this is the stuff I'm referring to. It's just a children program about general principles of science, injected with some humor and silliness. It was one of my favorite shows back when I was kid in the 90s, and I recall there were few other science-minded programs on TV, but I can't remember the names.

The only show of today that I can think of that is similar is MythBusters. Sure, MythBuster's methods and data are questionable at times, but there is a clear line thought there: thinking about the problem, experimenting, observing and understanding the results. But what about for kids, the ones in middle school for example? I guess any science-minded kid in this age can log into Youtube, and view videos at his pleasure, but it's not quite the same.

There is also 'How Its Made', which I think is great too. Unfortunately, the Science Channel is sinking thanks to Discovery folks being ugly morons.

For Brit-assians, Fin-assians and Ukraine-ians, were there shows like this when you were growing up on your TV?

Beakman's World + Bill Nye the Science Guy = what my friends who 'hate science' should have watched as kids.

My first thought after Mythbusters is Brainiac which, from what I've seen, really isn't that good (dodgy science, bad writing, any excuse for an explosion and totally gratuitous use of page 3 models). BUT I am generally of the opinion that anything which might get more people interested in science is a good thing.

Much better (for all ages) is pretty much anything by BBC Science

Mr. Wizard and Bill Nye ruled my television as a child.

Sesame Street and Bill Nye are two shows I must own in order to show my potential kids some day. It really would be awesome if Nye would do the show again. It was so entertaining and informative at the same time.

Bill Nye has always been tops with me. I used to show BN episodes to my 8th graders if it was relevant to what they were studying.

You can still purchase them for $1,000,000,000 thanks to Disney, but most of them are on YouTube.

It blows my mind because the guy barely looks older than me, and he's far closer in age to my father.

I know, it's really unsettling. Like being talked to by a 12 year old with a PhD.

Look Around You. Best Science show ever.

Also I hear Bill Nye's voice every day at work now as they pipe in a commercial with him advertising a good to go pass for tolls in the Seattle area or something.

Yeah, right now Nye's shilling for the DoT, trying to upgrade our state's transit system. Which is a noble goal, I suppose.
Anyways, I hear he briefly had a more young-adult oriented show that was about teen issues and stuff, but that's not what people wanna see. They wanna see Bill Nye, the science guy. I bet you there's a production company out there that would jump at the opportunity to start making new episodes. Hell, maybe even go webcast to cut out the network. I think we can all agree that would be excellent.

-And agreed with Kirby, the Science Guy will definitely be on the TV when I've got kids.

They should have a real science show. Instead of having fun it could be a half hour of finding multivariate regressions and waiting for someone to finish with the fume hood so you can use it

I'm struggling with the fact that I probably saw him live when I was about 11...
