I have a lot of Indian coworkers, and I guess that phrase was very common from colonial British usage, and it's stuck since then.
Also, I can kill you with my brain.

It also bothers me when people pluralize "one"

"Hey, what about those ones"

At first I thought this thread was about the usually unnecessary "However," but I cannot believe someone actually says the word comma because they think it's cute.

I hate it when people say literally as if it were an emphasis word, like "he's literally been hanging around the house all day" (not how saberopus used it though, it just reminded me)
I know a whole family of people that say "axe" instead of "ask"
"Irregardless" *stab*
"bestest" *stab stab*
And the one that bugs me the most, because my niece and nephew use it:
Turning vs into a verb "verse"
"I'm going Ryu and I'll verse anyone" *STAB STAB ST-* Oh gods I just killed my nephew!
You can't judge a book by it's file size

While we're at this general word moan session, "Party" is not a ****ing verb.

Other than people saying "Period." to emphasize a statement, I've never really heard of anyone speaking their punctuation.

Ex:
"SF Gold had plans to make the best MMO ever. Period."

Several notes there seem to suggest that, while an accepted definition, rarely adds anything. I still think the use of "literally" in that way should be avoided.

Any word can be verbed. It weirds language sometimes, but even Shakespeare did it.
