What is your favorite gaming platform?

Explain why. Is it the games available for it? The multiplayer network? The graphics quality?

Personally, mine is the PC. All my favorite games except for a handful are available for PC, plus on a PC they have editing and cheat capability. ( Yes, I use cheat codes. I'm a pansy. Only in sp, never mp though.)

Second fave is the Xbox, again, because of the games available for it.

PC, 360, portables, in that order.

The PS3 option should say - "PS3, cuz PSN ROCKS!"

Wii for when people are over. The straps and thick rubber condoms that prevent drunk people from breaking my controllers are a nice innovation (that sounded more BDSM than intended, but that's ok). PC for when I want to get immersed in a game experience; screen two feet away makes it easier to ignore reality. DS when I travel, I like the interface mostly, and really enjoy when a game takes full advantage of it.

PC but only because I hate using gamepads. Wii is fine though.

Despite your poll, I voted for "older console" although that's not entirely accurate. I've probably had the most overall fun out of the N64 for the number and variety of single and multi player games I've enjoyed, but it's not to say I haven't had better experiences with games scattered on just about any other system. I've enjoyed Nintendo systems in general because they offer good multiplayer and changing up what it means to play video games (analog controls, rumble devices, touch screens, motion controls, etc. -- not new things on their own, but generally successfully advancing the medium as a whole).

PC. I can't tolerate playing FPS games with a gamepad. I do really enjoy other types of games on consoles though but not enough to buy one.
? :)

PC.

But I don't play much games anymore. No real time. Portal 2 was a fun excursion but back to work.

Xbox, because I know when I stick the game in the drive it will 'just work' with the big screen and the surround sound and all.

Most of my gaming over the past year or so (maybe longer) has been on the 360. There's just something more comforting about firing it up and getting invested in a game than I really get from my PC, most of the time at least. It might be because nearly all of my work over the past 6 or 7 years has also involved a PC as well I guess, and it's nice to get away from that when I play.

That's not to say there aren't certain games that will always be PC-specific for me; DA2 for example, Fallout: New Vegas for another. But having said that, those are the only two games that immediately spring to mind when I try to think of games I've bought for the PC recently whereas I could rattle off a list of 360 titles pretty easily.

As for why the 360 over a PS3, or why I don't own a DS, mostly comes down to money. When I could afford one new console I went for the one that appealed to me most. The others just wouldn't be worth the investment at this point (especially with PSN down, lolol).

PC because I like mouse and keyboard. Consoles are great too, though.

PC, but I have to say I've always been a portable gamer. I've always had a gameboy/DS in my pocket since I was young, and play it only a bit less than PC. Something about getting a quick few pokebattles or tactical battle or puzzles done while I'm waiting somewhere gives me solace. I've spend a lot of time in hospital waiting rooms or traveling, so it makes sense.

I don't game that much anymore, but I'm going to go with PS3 seeing as I prefer consoles for everything but FPS and strategy games, and it's current.
nope.

Yeah, where the poll says Xbox, i meant to put the xbox360. That's what the poll is referring to. Can I edit the poll?

/me looks for a way to roll back time, or at least edit the poll.

PC, it's got funky flash games for when I have a short time to waste. Awesome rpg's, emulators for all of the older consoles (which are probably the things I play most) and a constant stream of new games for me to enjoy if I so choose.
Not to mention better graphics and performance then my ps3 can handle, mods, etc

Pc I like being able to customize anything I want on a pc. I also like mouse keyboard combo best. Also like the game editing ability usually only found on a pc.

PC, because updating a video card is a lot cheaper then buying a new system.

My favorite console is N64 by a clear mile.

PC, it can play everything I have an interest in playing.
