The Poem With a REALLY Long Title
2011-05-02, 1:27 PM #1
A colleague of ours sent this over to the team for fun today (and I'm not too sure what it means, the original's in Hungarian):

Nyuszi ül a fűben
The Rabbit is Sitting in the Grass
Children's Song

The rabbit is sitting in the grass,
Dozing, sitting.
Rabbit, are you perhaps ill,
That you can't even jump?
Rabbit oops! Rabbit oops!
It has already caught one.

I replied to All with this:

“The Poem That Makes Just As Little Sense In English as It would in Hungarian and Also Has an Extremely Long Title with Random Capitalization”

Here we sit by our computers
Staring into monitor’s glow
Educated by best of tutors
We’re here to make our careers grow

Each of us sends out reports
Analyzes tickets, data, information
Fearing our fierce management’s retorts
That may put dents in our plans for a vacation

We launch up the VPN
It starts up without buzz
Our credo is “technology and man*”

But in practice, it’s all just fuss
And we do our little dances
Like rabbits in the grass
We look up, we look for answers
But all we see’s a wall of glass

Through the glass stares sunny day
Outside it’s May, it’s summer
“Oh the work I’ll do today”
I would think – but I’m no newcomer

So I just stare at outside
Like a rabbit from the grass
Arrange Excel columns, rows, side by side
And keep staring through the glass

it took around 10 minutes, so it's not like I've spent too much work time doing this before anyone points that out, heh...
and yes, it's not megapoetry of doom, but thought maybe somebody stuck in the office right now might find it amusing
