So I've held off buying Crysis for like 4 years because I'm not that much of a gamer and it was expensive at first but then it went on sale on Steam a bunch of times and then I held off on buying it because of SecuROM. Now it's $10 for Crysis + Warhead again and I'm tempted but again dissuaded because of SecuROM. Am I just being irrational about my dislike of SecuROM?

Yes, the game works fine.

Idealistically, I agree with you. SecuRom sucks especially when Steam has a superior system.

But practically- too many games I want to play use it, and I am not likely to hit the 5 activation limit for many years.

Nope, not irrational at all. I don't buy games that have that crap. I don't care what it's like now. Fact of the matter is it was basically malware at one point, and I won't support that ****.

I have it on ol' fashion DVD. When I got my new computer I wanted to play the game the way it was designed. Everything on high detail, hard difficulty, and of course god mode.

If you really don't like of that much you could get your sea legs....

Copy protection is getting to be a pain in the ass. Earlier today I tried to buy a game for my brother and Steam wouldn't let us install it because I used the same debit card I use to buy stuff for my computer and they thought someone had stolen my card. I don't know if it ever installed... I just walked off after a few hours.

Would have been easier to gift it.

I wanna get that Universe Sandbox game, looks cool as hell!

Crysis is p. fun I like that game.
